I bought four rare soundtrack CDs from the online estate sale of a Hollywood fx guy (Brent Armstrong--he worked on "Army of Darkness" and a number of bad movies.) Anyway, I got "Solaris" (Russian/Japanese import) "Meet the Feebles" (sodomy!), Tetsuo" (Japanese import), and an out-of-print Jerry Fielding compilation.

I had some time to myself after work this past Saturday afternoon (which rarely happens nowadays) so I took a mental-health trip to, where else, the record store... and BOY am I glad I did, cuz I knocked one of the longest standing "wants" off of my want list...I'll be listening to all of these on a constant loop this week.

AC/DC - Bonfire (5 CD box set)

FINALLY! I have wanted this damn thing ever since it came out in the mid 90s but at the time the price tag (which ran between $40-$50 new, if memory serves) was a bit steep for my broke 20-something ass. When I saw it sitting there for only $20 I went weak in the knees and snapped it up.
The box and all the contents are in absolutely minty shape and all the extra goodies (poster, booklet, sticker, AC/DC logo temporary tattoo, guitar pick and AC/DC keychain/bottle opener) are included. I can finally declare my AC/DC collection complete!!

Also:
Judas Priest - Rocka Rolla/Sin After Sin

Bootleg "2 albums on 1 CD" compilation made in Russia (!). I have both of those albums on CD already, but I couldn't pass this up cuz I can't resist weird stuff (haha). Besides, the Rocka Rolla cover art on the front is the original soda-pop bottle cap cover, not the winged armored warrior cover that's on the reissue CD I already own, so that was enough to justify the purchase.

Bullet Lavolta - Gimme Danger EP

I'm not terribly familiar with this band aside from a cover of "Detroit Rock City" on a KISS tribute I have, but that was good enough to make it worth taking a punt. Time will tell if I chose wisely.

"Perspective" by Jlin. These are electronic versions of a composition that was a Pulitzer Prize finalist. I like it.

Last of my new soundtrack CD purchases. This one is rare, out-of-print Japanese import. Selections from "Tetsuo" and the "Body Hammer" sequel.

"Solar Music" by Butcher Brown. Contemporary jazz fusion, both mellow and funky. Me likee. These guys are from Richmond so Lil Cerb may have heard of them.
