Not a fan of John Landis but An American Werewolf In London was very good.

I was at a Ray Harryhausen exhibit at Edinburgh which I absolutely loved except for the narration by John Landis. I feel he should have faced a lengthy jail sentence.

1. HOWLING V is... also terrible (like most of the HOWLINGs), but what I dislike most about it is that the first 30 minutes are atmospheric, suspenseful, and interesting - and not dissimilar from THE BEAST MUST DIE... but then they ***SPOILERS if you care about someday watching this crummy series*** kill off the two coolest characters first and make you spend the next hour watching a bunch of dopes you don't care about. Bleh!

2. Sometimes I ignore celeb hot goss... what do we want to send John Landis to jail for, again? For killing Vic Morrow...? Or for giving the world Max Landis.......?

3. WOLFEN! Thanks for mentioning WOLFEN! I watched it last year for the first time since the early 80s... what a cool, offbeat flick... strong acting and atmosphere, beautiful photography, complex politics, gore... also totally left-field and arguably inappropriate humor... and Diane Venora looks completely lost and out-of-place amongst the great male cast....... my curiosity piqued, I did some research into WOLFEN and learned a factoid that seems impossible... the original cut was FOUR HOURS LONG?!?!?!  :buggedout:
