Reverend you guessed... CORRECTLY!!!
I won't try to force my opinion on you, but I will state the following:
1. The idea is great. I just thought it was carried out in a mediocre fashion. It had a few very bright spots though.
2. It was good enough to make me want to read the book.
3. I really liked the villain/antagonist. I found him unique and creepy.
4. I did not find the characters (I am struggling for a good word to place here) engaging enough. I don't believe that a story has to have likable characters but they do have to be interesting.
5. I'm sure the American remake is far worse. (I know the nature of the ending and I'm annoyed by the idea.)
6. it might have been better if I could understand the languages without subtitles.
7. I usually take a few breaks during almost any movie I watch. It might have been better in one sitting.
8. I was expecting something at least a little amazing because of all I had heard about this film. I might have let my disappointed feelings cloud my opinion.
Reverend, I would love to hear your thoughts on my statements.
Well, I only saw it once, when it came out, and maybe I was easier to impress then, but I remember it chilled me quite pleasantly.
1. Not sure what to say except tht I didn't think the execution was mediocre at all.
2. I didn't realize it was based on a book. I probably wouldn't read it, since I was happy with the movie version.
3. I agree.
4. The hero was little flat maybe, but that didn't bother me. I actually identified with his obsession.
5. I agree, though I haven't seen it.
6. Not a factor for me.
7. Maybe.
8. High expectations can really effect your enjoyment of a movie. There have been several movies I suspect I would have enjoyed a lot more if I had gone into them with lower expectations. I suspect that's a real possibility here.
I'll post a new still tomorrow, probably.
