I hope hollywood doesn't wreck the main idea... yeah like that matters. I loved the Smurfs! It's funny my Girlfriend loves them as well. So I will see this. However I have seen this trailer a while ago... it looks like a crappy Scooby Doo cgi bomb. We all remember how Scooby Doo looked like in 3d correct? Like crap thats how. Also lets keep in mind GIJOE had over a 100 awesome vehicles and only about 2 made it in the movie. I wish the Smurf movie good luck, I like the idea to make a movie but in NYC? OMG NO. No way.

Personally, I like that film and I liked the Scooby Doo verison they made. However, he just didn't really look that good in a bunch of scenes. Oh well.

To each is own. I like the 70's cartoon Scooby, thats why I'm a little sour with 3D Scooby. On that note* 1 more thing about the Smurf movie. Gargamel... Thats right Gargamel, you remember the old wizard that wants to KILL then EAT the Smurfs... well my point... I hope it's not some good looking young actor that gets the role... You KNOW Hollywood. That would break it for me.

What next are they gonna do California Raisins in 3D but this time replace their raisin-ness with excrement?

Please, the series isn't well remembered as the Smurfs and besides, if we wanted to see the California Raisins being whored out in some fashion, there's always the comic series.

Cool, I happy to know it's Hank Azaria... I'm glad it's not some "blonde young actor".
But NYC lol... yeah I know I stated my case but still... present day NYC? Ummm...
Anyway I can't wait to see what Azrael looks like.

Hank Azaria does look like he might be the best thing in this movie. He does make a pretty good Gargamel.

Sorry, I need to correct my mistake. I thought was the teaser trailer you posted. I have never seen this before... I thought it was the one where they pop out of the manhole in NYC. Seen that months ago.
Anyway... Azrael (the cat) looks great. However IMO Gargamel looks just "OK".
I'm still not sold on the present day big city thing... will see.
Also, I really hope Smurfette doesn't get pushed to be too sluty... that would be wrong lol. (I'm referring to the dress blowing up. WTH? LOL)

Something that I noticed in the trailer that sort of bothered me. There was a "Smurf'd" pun used. (I think it was "I smurfed in my mouth" or something similar). I'm betting that the film will have a few more puns like that. I honestly don't like the idea of this. The Smurfs were always innocent. It was the people watching them that made the innuendos and puns and whatnot. I mean, I understand throwing some jokes in for the grown ups, but I'd rather see it without the "Smurf" innuendos and puns.
Plus, Neil Patrick Harris? Come on...
