Sounds like it could have been recorded in 1959 (but remastered according to today's standards). Joy may be the most talented jazz singer working right now.



Pretty sure this Armenian prog-metal-jazz will end up as my favorite release of 2024.

"Cosmic American Music: Motel California". Compilation of rare 70s rock/country, sort of progenitors to alt-country. Supposed to be "psychedelic" country, but I don't hear it.

I find all her albums from Clouds (1969) to Hejira (1976) to be great... slim pickings after that

This starts in the Hejira era. I like "Mingus" (also in this era) but I realize it's not for everyone.
