Ian Fleming was Sir Christopher's step cousin by marriage.
He served in my birth country during the war before being deployed to North Africa and then on to Italy.
He made several movies here including KILLER FORCE, THE CURSE 3 aka PANGA and the very disturbing THE WHISPERING DEATH.

I can't imagine that it will shed much light on the wartime activities that he himself refused to talk about, but I'll be watching out for this one nonetheless.

Sir Christopher Lee's military career is still shrouded in mystery.
The untold story of Sir Christopher Lee is set to be revealed in an upcoming documentary film.
The Life and Deaths of Christopher Lee features interviews with friends, family members and famous directors.
Jon Spira, from Headington, Oxford, had access to Lee's scrapbooks and 100 interviews from the British Film Institute's library.
The filmmaker tells the BBC the actor's life was an "incredible story" waiting to be told.
Lee starred in more than 250 films across eight decades, including the Hammer Horror, James Bond, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars franchises.
But as Spira's film explains, he had a military career during World War Two still shrouded in mystery, and helped track down Nazi war criminals.
"Because he could speak fluently a range of different languages he got pulled into the secret service doing missions of which the facts have never fully come out," Spira explains.
"His cousin was Ian Fleming and a lot of people think the character of James Bond was based on him.
"He certainly didn't do anything to disavow people of that.
"You could almost do this as two films. That's why we called it The Life and Deaths of Christopher Lee, because his life is one story and his career is another."
Did you know that Sir Christopher Lee was...
1 Born into Italian aristocracy
2 A witness to the last public execution by guillotine
3 Introduced to Rasputin's assassins as a boy
4 A swordsman in an Errol Flynn film
5 The only person in the Lord of the Rings films to have met JRR Tolkien
6 An expert knife thrower
7 The oldest person to get on the Billboard music charts (with a Heavy Metal album)

It's called "Not Like Us (1995)" and is currently available in full on youtube.

Next week, we will go to vote.

I hope that our voters will do the right thing and kick the current government to the kerb as they have ruined this country.

If this doesn't happen, our country will die.

If it does happen, there is a faint hope for renewal.

I love my country: I do not want it to die.

Viva South Africa and voetsek the ANC.

Pretty much the same my Turkish colleagues at work say about Turkey, and my Russian colleagues at work say about Russia. Though Putin will most likely be Russia's forever president, sadly.

I'm praying for a miracle: they must at least lose their majority in the Parliament down to 30% and then things might get better. If they win again, God help us all.

THE 39 STRIPES (1979): Religious testimony based on the life of a man who came to Jesus in prison. It could've really been a great anti-establishment movie a la COOL HAND LUKE, sympathetic to the plight of the oppressed prisoner, but it's too blindly focused on getting to the conversion; it treats all the prison drama as necessary to pad out the film to 60 minutes. Strange how the pious warden condones all that vile, sadistic torture in his institution. Who would've thought the Ormonds would make even worse movies without the input of Estus Pirkle? 0.5/5.

my dad was in the navy, and I once got to stay for a week at the ministry of defence in greenwich with him, when I was 15... my main memory of that week was the entire place grinding to a sudden halt one evening, and all these officers, commanders and whatever cramming into the tv room to watch red dwarf. surreal

Earth is visited by a GIANT ANTIMATTER SPACE BUZZARD! Gawk at the amazingly bad bird puppet, or chuckle over the silly dialog. This is one of the greatest b-movies ever made.
