The UnPlugged special with Alice in Chains remains my favorite.  Layne Staley was pretty addicted at this point, but still put on a great performance.

Sadly, he passed a few years later.

I'm listening to the cd now.

That is, indeed, a great performance.   It is often heralded as the best Unplugged performance, period, bar none.   I have the DVD.

I personally rank it up there as the best Unplugged out of all of them.  Neil Young was enjoyable, and Eric Clapton, but, I don't know.  AiC ranks above.
