It seems today that these dang kids have everything. I got to thinking this morning about how back in the day we didn't have the luxuries of youtube or downloading songs.
My first album story comes from the mid 80s when Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet Came Out. It seems all the kids in the 5th grade had the album to listen to at their leisure...well...except for me.
I kept begging my parents and brother to pick it up for me on cassette but they didn't. Some kids offered to record a copy of the cassette but I didn't want that sh!t! I wanted the liner notes and the whole shabangabang.
Anyhow, I had stopped believing in the Easter Bunny by the 4th grade. However, I figured I'd stretch it out and tell my parents I wanted the tape from the Easter Bunny. Yep, I was desperate. But, finally on Easter morning I got the tape from the "Easter Bunny".
Odd epilogue to that story, I pretty much can't listen to it now. I outplayed it that year I think. Well minus the first track "Let It Rock" which is still one of my favs.
