We had floods in Johannesburg - about 30 miles from us - a few days ago, not because of heavy rains but because the city's dwellers throw around their rubbish, blocking drains so that the waters can't drain 😳😳

Same controversy came up in my town after Hurricanes Isabelle & Gaston

Tonight's stinker was Horror Hospital (1973), one I'd been meaning to get out of my system since catching the tail end sometime back in the late '80s or early '90s...
I think it was supposed to be a comedy, or a dark British satire, but I found it painfully slow.... Thirty minutes in, I felt like I'd been sitting for an hour, & after an hour, well, you know...

I watched a bit of NFL and the a re-watch of "Poor Things." Wouldn't watch either of those events you mentioned.

Tonight's stinker was Godmonster Of Indian Flats (1973), Which starts out weird, & turns into a mess!

I'm beginning to think I lake the older black & white drive in flicks better, because they're usually only an hour or so long, & typically stay on point...

Last night's stinker had too many sub plots, tried too hard to be artsy, & the '70s ending felt forced.....

You know it is January when YouTube assaults you with book your vacation in the sun ads. Every year the same spiel. I'm still in winter mode, and I'm not looking forward to summer and heat. On the same note, I still get the same mouth and dental hygiene ads since last summer, because I apparently love to look at people's gross gums in close-ups.

If YouTube ads are based on videos I watch on YouTube, then they are doing a very poor job at it. Not that I watch ads intentionally, though.

I've recently been targeted by a lot of adds for joining the Royal Navy (specifically submarines). I have no intention of completing the trifecta though.

On a completely different train of thought, when someone complains to you that everyone at their old workplace treated them like an idiot, what is a polite way of telling them well that is because you are?

Tempted into looking up the KelTec Sub2000 Gen3, I found myself wondering, would somebody really take that down to the range, or would they just spend all day breaking it down & putting it back together???

Tonight's stinker
Grabbers (2012)
Not too riffable, but then, it's supposed to be a comedy, so it gets some giggles after the plot is established, with at least one character getting in lots of one liners.....

Between sips of coffee this morning, I took a pause for The Serenity Prayer....
Pondering change, it made me think of my pants, Which I hadn't planned on changing until Wednesday.....

Things I would rather do than watch the Super-Dee-Dooper Bowl tonight included refilling a 1970s-era stapler, using a q-tip to clean behind the bathroom faucet handles, and use a damp cloth to dust our piano keys.

It surprises me to still see the term "best boy" in film credits. Aside from its gender specificity, it's a little boastful.
