Title: BloodRayne on Sci-Fi Saturday
Post by: raj on January 19, 2007, 11:34:18 AM
Is it any good or just a waste of time?

A horrible waste of time. Its a step up from Uwe Boll's previous films but that's not saying much. The only worthwhile scene is Kristianna Lokan's sex scene in a dungeon. LOL! And since Bloodrayne is showing on Sci-Fi, that scene will be gone. Still... its better than most of Sci-Fi's "original pictures."

Thanks.
I'm not sure I've seen any of Uwe's productions, and it doesn't look like I'm missing much.  Maybe I'll slip Phantom of the Opera in instead.

Alone in the Dark really makes you realize why Christian Slater doesn't get much work these days. Tara Reid playing a scientist is so hilarious it almost makes the movie worth watching.

I haven't seen Bloodrayne yet but I know that at some point I will watch it.

I'm a bit of a Boll apologist.

I love the man's work, if only for how bad the films are.  I've said that time and time again.  Isn't that what we are all here for?  Bad Movies!

That being said, I have yet to bring myself to watch Bloodrayne.  I played the games on my PC and thought they were ok.  I picked up the DVD of Bloodrayne when it was released and have yet to watch it.  I flipped through it once, and that was enough to keep me away from it.  Looked much worse than House Of The Dead and Alone In The Dark.  I don't know if I can handle something that bad.

Unlike "House of the Dead" and "Alone in the Dark" (both full-on funny crapfests), this is just boring. Loken's no good in it, Michelle Rodriguez is completely wasted and blah blah blah. I struggle to even be bothered enough to talk about a film this...nothing.

Well I have some DVD news for all you Uwe Boll enthusiasts. I forget WHERE I read this (I believe it was in a magazine that my friendly neighborhood video store owner gets) but apparently Uwe is releasing NEW cuts of "House of the Dead" and "Alone in the Dark." The new cut of "House" will be a "parody" of the film with some new scenes added, some old scenes deleted, and well.... yeah, sounds like he's making it even worse. "Alone" will have the Slater/Reid sex scene taken out (which is good because it was a really bad sex scene... they looked so uncomfortable writhing all over each other), however more footage of Tara Reid will be put back in.

He's also working on a sequel to Bloodrayne and has yet to release Dungeon Siege (which features an all-star cast headed by Jason Statham). I think some of us should move to Germany and abuse the same German Tax Laws that allow Uwe to make his films. What say you fellow bad movie fans?!  :teddyr: Can we make  better movies than Uwe Boll?!?!  :buggedout:

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that Kristanna Loken and Michelle Rodriguez have allegedly been dating.... secretly.... after meeting during Bloodrayne....  I guess those two got use of the Dungeon set after hours when no one was around? Now THAT'D make a great movie! Whatcha think Torgo?  :bouncegiggle:

I have tried to watch this film, on cable (Starz I believe) no less than three times, I just can't seem to get past the first thirty minutes or so, if anything for me the movie starts off slow and bad, then just gets slower and worse, I can't watch much more than this.

Here is a Bloodrayne 2 preview video:  http://www.pitchpage.com/main.php?id=341

Please note that vampiric Billy the Kid is played by the guy who played Bully Scut Farkus in A Christmas Story.

Hahahaha!  That was so ridiculous, but I have to admit, I couldn't help but thinking 'Wow, these are some really interesting camera angles being used' and actually thought a bit better of Boll.

As my first and only Uwe Boll film, I have to say that as terrible as it was, it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be.

This is of course not saying much at all...

I finally caught this one today and I have to say...at the risk of being tarred, feathered and run out of town...I kinda liked it.

Now, I wasn't overly fond of Boll's last two films, but I suppose what made this one bearable for me was the period setting...and the hot chicks. :teddyr:

I gotta admit, some of the fake accents were terrible.

Did he threaten you?  I know that he boxed those kids in Canada, but this is going too far...

I have been told advised to say that I have been treated with nothing but the utmost kindness.

Somebody help me.

A new cut which is a prody of itself? Boll is only funny because he doesn't know how funny he is. This will suck.

I caught the last half of Bloodrayne.  Eh, I enjoyed all the closeups of Loken's cleavage, good job on that Ewe.  Otherwise it was pretty much standard Sci-Fi Channel original movie fare.  Oh wait, it probably had ten times the budget of a standard Sci-Fi Channel original.  Anyhow, the cleavage shots were nice.

I caught a few min. of it on Sci-Fi and I would be willing to give this film a chance but I am not gonna pay for it like if I found it at the library or something.

I thought BloodRayne was a massive improvement over Alone in the Dark, which bored the hell out of me and gave me a headache.

It's laughably bad most of the time.  The only actor who comes across well is Billy Zane, who is genuinely good in his limited screen time.  Ben Kingsley is incredibly, atrociously awful.  Someone should post some audio of the motivational speech he tells his troops while they're going to go looking for Rayne.

I don't know... I rather enjoyed BloodRayne.  It is not nearly the waste of time that Alone in the Dark was.  And House of the Dead was bad, but enjoyably bad...
