Yup. Here's more:

:bluesad:
Suicide? Why? :bluesad:
That's too bad. He added a little something to just about every movie he was in, crappy or not. He was kind of like Donald Pleasance in that sense.
As for why... I suspect he's been troubled for a long time. I know people who've seen him at conventions, apparently he's gone on a number of benders, both the legal kind and the illegal kind.
This is some truly shocking and depressing news. He was always one of my favorite actors. I realize that he had some serious demons in the past but it seemed that after the mainstream success of the Kill Bill films, I thought he had put those behind him finally. Sadly that doesn't seem to have been the case. The last film that I saw him in was Crank: High Voltage........ R.I.P. Caine. You will be missed!
Crap, that's surprising and sad news.
It's unclear but some other stuff I'm reading seems to be hinting not at suicide but auto-erotic asphyxiation.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/celebritynews/5444839/David-Carradine-found-dead-in-wardrobe-of-Bangkok-hotel.html
QuoteDavid Carradine, star of the television series Kung Fu and the Kill Bill movies, has been found hanged and half-naked in the wardrobe of a Bangkok hotel room, according to reports...Thai police told the BBC the 72-year-old was found by a hotel maid sitting in a wardrobe with a rope around his neck and other body parts...
Still, there's nothing definite in any of the reports.
Terrible news.
My thoughts to the Carradine family, one of the true American acting dynasties.
Sad news, I always enjoyed his acting in just about everything he was in.
Shocking to say the least. R.I.P. :bluesad:
I just heard this from a freind about half an hour agoat work. A fine actor. My favorite film of his will always be DEATHRACE 2000-but sooo many other greats-BOXCAR BERTHA,BOUND FOR GLORY,SONNY BOY,KILL BILL...well over 200 films!!! And of course-KUNG FU.
Go in Peace.
Sleep well, David. You have left us all a grand body of work to enjoy.
:bluesad:
Before I knew his name he was "that guy that's in all those movies" to me.
Death Race 2000 will always be one of my favorite movies. Such a shame, RIP David.
To a lot of us, David Carradine was a legend.
I simply cannot fathom why he would want to go out the way he did.
R.I.P. dude. Loved your movies!
Actor Michael Madsen has a really touching and heartfelt eulogy on his official site. Well worth a read.........

Touching and heartfelt indeed, Torgo. I now have a different view of Michael Madsen altogether ~ that is indeed a touching eulogy indeed.
RIP, David. :bluesad:

Kill Bill, Kung Fu, Q the Winged Serpent, Dead and Breakfast...
Thanks for the memories, David. We'll miss you.

Wow is all I can say reading this...RIP. :bluesad:
Auto erotic asphyxiation ?...basically death by masturbation...if the rumors are true, of course...
So sad...
I just watched Circle of Iron the other day...

Well, death by chocking/strangling yourself on purpose while masturbating. It's very dangerous and most people either severely injure themselves or kill themselves as it seems to be what happened in Carradine's case.
I can't believe this :(( . It's a shame, Carradine was excellent in his movies, I figured he would live at to least as old as his father...

I was really hoping that wasn't true, but it sounds like it is.
I read in a news article that he had "an intricate web of ropes -- one around his neck, another around his genitals and the two tied together, according to Thai authorities."
That's messed up.
Apparently he took auto-erotic asphyxiation pretty seriously.
Even worse is the mental picture of him a lot of people have probably imagined.
David Carradine. Masturbating. With ropes around his neck. In a closet.
Not a pretty sight.
(I don't mean to tarnish the guy's legacy by saying that...but you can be certain other people have thought it, too)
Thai police: Carradine death may be accidental
BANGKOK – Police are speculating that accidental suffocation, not suicide, may have caused the death of American cult actor David Carradine, whose body was found in a hotel closet in the Thai capital with a rope tied to his neck, wrist and genitals.
Celebrity blogs and social networking Web sites were abuzz with news of the death of Carradine — best known for the 1970s TV series "Kung Fu." The circumstances under which he died have led to speculation that the 72-year-old actor may have been engaged in a dangerous form of sex play known as auto-erotic asphyxiation.
The practice involves temporarily cutting off the supply of oxygen to the brain to heighten the effects of a sexual climax...

I dunno... The upshot of this is maybe he really had gotten past his demons, and was living a fulfilling, happy life when he died.

Yeah.
For all we know, this might be how he wanted to out. :teddyr:
Of all the things he's done in his career, this is what he's gonna be remembered for~:
Death by kinky wanking.
Ya never know... I think Tennessee William's death is more ridiculous, and few remember it.
He choked to death on a prescription bottle cap.
...And at least it wasn't due to choking on vomit or in a bizzare gardening accident.

Never too soon. The man was in Bangkok. Sin capital. And he was doing this crap in his room? A VD-laden hooker is better than risking death.

I've only been reading the headlines, but this is what I have gleaned from those headlines. (1) The Carradine family has asked that the FBI become involved in the investigation. (2) A private investigator hired by the Carradine family to look into the death has--apparently--ruled out suicide, which would seem to lead back to death by misadventure through accidental suffocation.
If this does prove to be the cause of his death, he'll not be the first actor to die this way. Rumor has it, that Albert Dekker also died the same way.
Some of you think this is funny but David Carradine will allways be one of my favorite actors. Also in those foreign lands you have to becareful because some of the scum of the earth live there.
QuoteAlso in those foreign lands you have to becareful because some of the scum of the earth live there.

For a 72 year old guy, hey, there's a certain amount of credit that must be given.

Maybe the family should hire me !

QuoteRumor has it, that Albert Dekker also died the same way.
It was inevitable Dekker would come up in the discussion of Carradine's death.
Not for the weak of heart or nervous persons, and not
safe for work if people like to read over your shoulder:

There are even links to photos of Dekker's "TUB OF DEATH" and his infamous "SHOWERHEAD OF DEATH".
On a more pleasant topic: Did y'all hear that Chastisty Bono is gonna become a dude?
In response to Raffine's previous post, yes. And, frankly, I'm struck speechless.
I wonder if when the Darwin awards gets a copy of the david caradine houdini weenie photo, if they subtitle it with" this is me at my most, masochistic."
