The decade is slowly closely out so why not recongize it by picking the best 100 movies to have come out during this time? Any movie is allowed, including anime, musical, and documentary. One film per franchise. I'll kick things off with this:
1. Wall-E (2008)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZisWjdjs-gM
#2
Kill Bill (I say 1, but 2 is very good too).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-czwy-aVbbU
I'm counting Kill Bill as one movie (like LOTR, each "film" was shot at the same time)
3. Pan's Labyrinth
4) Maybe it's not a "good" movie, but I really enjoyed Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMVDT_poPoc#
5. Planet terror!
Grindhouse goodness from beginning to end!
6.) Sorry guys, it's Saw III  . Great tale with an increasingly volatile menage-a-trois between a disabled wannabe messiah, a psychopath with some maniacal stockholm syndrome and a flippant captive
8. Dark Knight
9. The Wrestler
(http://peoplesmoviecritic.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/the_wrestler_movie_poster_1.jpg)
10. No Country for Old Men
What happened to #7?
7) Lord of the Rings (retrofitted for your approval)

7) Lord of the Rings (retrofitted for your approval)
Ok, now we are good to go!
11. Spirited Away

#12: King Kong (2005)
13) The Mummy Returns (sorry :teddyr: )

Dude...
Not a perfect movie by any stretch of the imagination, but lovable because of its flaws...
14. DONNIE DARKO (2001)
15. Sideways
(http://paisley.presys.com/graphics/sideways.jpg)
16. Slumdog Millionare (2008)
1. SAW

18. Howl's Moving Castle
19. KUNG FU HUSTLE

20. Rockstar (apart from the sucky ending!)

21. Haute tension (2003) [High Tension]
22. Anchorman
(http://sebastian.sbecerra.org/2009/10/14/anchorman5.jpg)
Anchorman is a good pick and almost as funny as:
23. Zoolander (2001)
24. Spider-Man 2
25. Shaun of the Dead
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfDUv3ZjH2k
26. OLDBOY (2003)
27. FRAILTY (2001)
The over-looked thriller directed by Bill Paxton.
28. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
Hmmmmmmm... Something what the Star Wars Prequels should of been... :)
I would like to point out the historical significance of the Harry Potter series, the box office success has pushed Hollywood into producing movies such as Eragon (2006), Stardust (2007), The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), Twilight (2008) and Where the Wild Things Are (2009) [there are others but that's what I could think from the top of my head.]
I could see an argument between Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) vs. The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) as who started the chain. I'm leaning towards Harry Potter because there are so many movies aimed at the Harry Potter age group and fans... :)
29. Where the Wild Things Are
So deep and so moving, and not to mention visually impressive! I wish some people would get that. :bluesad:
30. Gangs of New York.
31.) Ok whip out the guns and shoot me but...

Ah... Skull already picked that one for the list.
Whoops, guess I must have missed that...I'll go with...
31.) Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets
(http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii232/uhkittykat/cos.jpg)
But Darksider, it's one film per franchise.
31? CRASH
(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d0/Crash_ver2.jpg)
Don't worry Rev, you are right with number 31.
Anyways...
32. District 9
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gUkoK_7R-w
33. The Departed
(http://www.online-free-movies.us/movieimg/2iqbsc8.jpg)
34. Chicago
Even though I don't think it deserve Best Picture, it was still a good flick.
35. My Sister's Keeper.
I know there are haters of it out there, but I know at least 5 people enjoyed it. :teddyr:
36. Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
It's probably one of the best comedies to come out this decade that isn't rated R, which I appericate a lot.
It just barely made it, but:
37. Avatar
My favorite film of the year.
38. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
Can't deny it. It's pretty darn good and interesting.
39. Matchstick Men
(http://wakingbadger.com/fileShare/imageShare/matchstick_men.jpg)
40. THE HURT LOCKER
(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6c/HLposterUSA2.jpg)
41. Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Probably one the best Disney movies (NonPixar related) to come out this decade. A good engaging story, nice voice acting, an impressive soundtrack, and visually pleasing to the eyes in everyway. I just wish people would see that!
42. Runaway Jury
(http://darrinzdanis.com/Images/Favorites/Entertainment/Movies_files/image038.jpg)
I don't know if anyone said it, but definitely Sweeney Todd
44. Little Miss Sunshine

72. 28 Days Later
73. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
74. The Orphanage
You might notice King Kong is on there twice. That's my bad. Thus, the second King Kong is now retroactively Speed Racer.
75. The Hidden Blade
(http://www.popmatters.com/images/film_art/h/the-hidden-blade-kakushi-ken-oni-no-tsume-2004.jpg)
76. Inglourious Basterds
77. Alien Trespass
This is simply one of the best of the decade, because it is such a great and near perfect tribute to all things 50s Sci-fi movies. It's fun, entertaining, the acting is enjoyable, and it bleeds science fiction out of every person and every scene.
78) 3:10 to Yuma (2007)
79. MEMENTO (2000)

Everyones opinion is so diferent on these things. I think it would be easier just to do a topic of everyone's top 10 of the decade because there are some movies on this list that i thought are horrible. Im sure others would agree. But again thats just my opinion

I agree but that tends to be the inherent problems with lists. However, a list the group works on tends to make us search a bit more and feel more a part of it.
89) The Proposition
It went fro 87 to 89 so I guess this is the actual 89 ?
89. The Chaser (2008)
We are almost there! Let's not give up just yet! I'm not letting this go just yet!
90. A History of Violence
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBerc2JwN4I
Maybe a controversial choice.
91. ANTICHRIST (2009)
92. Punch-Drunk Love - 2002
(http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/2262/punchdrunklovea.jpg) (http://img833.imageshack.us/i/punchdrunklovea.jpg/)
The best film starring Adam Sandler for people that hate Adam Sandler films. I love a lot of Adam Sandler movies, including (especially?) this one.
93.KUNG POW: ENTER THE FIST.
Hey-if SCARY MOVIE and Adam Sandler can be on this list....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1D43JgnsY4
Seriously-I laffed my ass off. I like the 3 stooges too, though.
High School Musical...
(Okay, I'm kidding)
94. THE MACHINIST (2004)
I know these things are based on taste and whatnot, but I find it hard to understand how DODGEBALL (and a few other entries) can be on the same list as GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES. That just somehow seems....wrong.
Since the list is nearly over, I've got my "Honorable Mention" list ready. There are some on there that may shake some heads, too, but there are some very good movies that are being overlooked to make room for dreck and silly romps.
95. Into the Wild (2007)
Not much to say about this film other than its great and the main character was kind of stupid.
96. Triangle
(http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_TLYCdoBUalI/Sv3Egvxwk-I/AAAAAAAAFR8/TdMCRUgsF_M/s320/triangle.jpg)
97. APOCALYPTO (2006)
98.)Death Sentence
Big revenge movie buff and this is one of the better revenge films to come out in the last couple of years.
99. There Will be Blood.
100. The Room
Now follow me on this: I pick this as the final movie of the 2000 decade because it is the best bad movie from that decade. It's badly made, but yet so enjoyable movie because of it. We love bad movies and this is one the best bad movies to come out of this past decade, so why not honor it with the final spot on this list?
As such, we finally put this top 100 list to rest. It was fun while it lasted, but now let us look to the future and await more silly Top 100 lists coming our way.
I've seen 26 of the Top 100. That's not TOO bad, I guess.
Before we close out the thread, here's my own list of 'Honorable Mentions.' All of these I personally gave 4 or greater (out of 5) on my Netflix ranking, though they may not be ALL the ones I gave such a score to.
I also left off "bad" movies that were fun, so this is a more 'serious' list. In no particular order:
CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR (2007)
TEARS OF THE SUN (2003)
TRAITOR (2008)
SAVED! (2004)
LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (2008)
CHILDREN OF MEN (2006)
BODY OF LIES (2008)
PRICELESS (2006)

WHAT?! I forgot Hotel Rwanda?! Damn, I really loved that movie too! It is probably the best film I saw in my film class next to In the Heat of the Night.
Glad somebody put in both There Will Be Blood AND Antichrist. Everyone should go into the former knowing nothing, everyone should go into the later thinking they know everything.
Also happy (but a little afraid) to see this site in the hands of the new generation of Otaku.
