What do you think are some of the most effective action b-movies? shoot-em-up type films.
I can't seem to think of very many. the last half of Bad Taste comes to mind ...

Yessir !
Fred Olen Ray's Armed Response with David Carradine and Lee Van Cleef is pretty good of its' type.
Don't most (if not all) Steven Seagal movies qualify?
And the full range of Van Damme movies? And Chuck Norris movies?

Deadbeat at Dawn
Ah, yes. A classic that doesn't get mentioned much in here. Where are all the Jim van Bebber fans, dammit!
I'm partial to Silent Rage (Chuck Norris meets slasher) and Troma's War...
I always go for low budget action films to this one: Samurai Cop

If that didn't convince you, then I don't know what will!
Wow that's so bad. I have to see that now!

That was amazing! How have I never seen this movie before?!?!?
A couple of observations:
* It sure was polite of those bad guys to wait their turn and only attack one at a time.
* When did Terence Howard and Arsenio Hall have a baby? I thought they broke up...
A couple that I have reviewed recently:
Cyborg Cop (http://www.mondo-esoterica.net/Cyborg%20Cop.html) - a classic straight to video 1990s action film with a wooden lead, plenty of explosions and a gratuitous sex scene, everything you could want really.
Eye of the Eagle (http://www.mondo-esoterica.net/Eye%20of%20the%20Eagle.html) an absurdly OTT Vietnam war film with an explosion or gunfight every two minutes throughout the runtime, a young Robert Patrick stars. The later follow-up Last Stand at Lang Mei (http://www.mondo-esoterica.net/Eye%20of%20the%20Eagle%203.html) is almost as action packed but with a better story.

Trust me guys. I'm not even showing the 'best' scenes in this movie. Wait until you see the bacon grease scene and the nurse scene. Instant classics in bad cinema.
You know... speaking other low budget action movies that also happens to have Robert Z'Dar in it: Pocket Ninjas.
Sucks to high heaven, but if you want low budget, you won't find anything else that can compare. Here's a clip from the film. Warning, may cause brain damage:

Samurai Cop is awesome!!
I've only seen two Jim Van Bebber movies. Of course Deadbeat at Dawn and the other one being The Manson Family. Really loved Deadbeat.. The Manson Family was okay. Just not really my taste.
Another great "bad action" movie I watched recently is Steele Justice
Albert Pyun's films suck by definition, but he was on a good day when he made this one:

Nice to see you back too, Neville.
I wish I could post here more often, but real life issues have become more and more demanding during the last months. I still manage to watch a movie a day, and some of them are review-worthy, thoufg, so I don't discard posting something about them in the future.
