What's a favorite BETTE DAVIS movie?
I'll pick the obvious one first: WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? (1962)
TCM has been showing BETTE DAVIS movies all day Tuesdays this month, which is why she's on my mind.
Please post one at a time, so everybody gets a chance.

Whatever Happened to Baby Jane is my favorite. But since it has already been chosen, I will say:
Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte
All About Eve
You guys got all the good ones!
She was lined up to be in FRANKENSTIEN- the part went to Mae Clarke.

dead ringer is a fave for me, as is the bad sister, her first movie.. no idea why i have such a fascination for evil twin movies, lol!
Her earlier movies are kind of Lifetime ish. they were meant to appeal to women. the idea that a guy would take her over mariyln monroe or Olivia de haviland is just silly

A STOLEN LIFE (1946) is the one with
GLENN FORD.
Nobody mentioned
NOW, VOYAGER (1941)... there are many more great
BETTE DAVIS movies...
I may be alone here, but I've always liked The Nanny.

You're not alone.
THE NANNY (1965) is a movie I've been considering posting.
I like BURNT OFFERINGS. With Oliver Reed and Karen Black too!
Because I love MARY ASTOR, THE GREAT LIE (1941) is a particular BETTE DAVIS movie favorite (and hebby on melodrama, as Lester pointed out about her early films).

The first one was
THE PRIVATE LIVES OF ELIZABETH AND ESSEX (1939) a film I love because
BETTE is opposite
ERROL FLYNN.

37 years together next march, not bad for a marriage that most people thought wouldn't last a year, lol!
What's the one she starred in with a teenage boy (it's an old movie from the 1930s) where he kept getting a boner during filming? I think I have it in a Mill Creek 50 movie pack.

No, it was 1932's Hell House with Bette Davis and Junior Durkin. Which outtakes from the film was mighty popular among people attending private stag nights in Hollywood, and which led to many fights with Junior and others, as for some reason, Junior took offense to what was being seen on the screen. Junior would make only 5 more films, before he lost his life in an automobile accident in southern California. An accident which also took the lives of 3 more people. Jackie Coogan was also in the car at that time, but was the only one to survive the accident.
Saw this on ebay...Bette Davis by James (" I WANT YOU!") Montgomery Flagg on Photoplay magazine, 1935.

To be rudely honest, she gave me the creeps.
