Who dislikes Donald J. Trump?
Me. I'm not as rabid in my distaste for him as others but I see him as a nincompoop doing more harm than good.

I think he is a loathsome human being, and a dangerously ignorant and incompetent leader.
He has despotic tendencies and I think he would love nothing more than to lock up everyone who criticizes him.
Far and away the worst President of my lifetime.
I never thought I would see a US president who was more mocked and disliked internationally than Bush jnr or see a leader who would do more damage to a nations image than him. trump must have heard this and said "Hold my beer!"
He's a joke. I still can't believe people voted him president.

This is important and overlooked. The Republican party worked hard to marginalize the wingnuts, racists and the John Birchers. Now they seem to have seized complete control of the party in just a few years. If the GOP wants to be more than a permanent minority party, they'll have to moderate and rebuild after Trump. And we need a strong GOP to counter the Democrats, beacuse we are stuck with this crappy two party system.

His foreign policy moves are the complete opposite of what he said on the campaign trail though. Saudi flight students commit an act of terrorism (again!) and his instinct is to cover for the saudi regime, the absolute grossest people on the face of the Earth.
He's a hell of a lot smarter than George Bush was though and is pretty entertaining on twitter. minus the harmful foreign policy moves I'd probably be on board.

lester, in MY city, it ain't so hot, nor for the rest of the state either. 3 of the big 4 avionic factories are laying people off, so are several of the other manufacturing plants. and even my field, food service , you need 3 jobs to live, because NOBODY gets full time if they're hourly. ER admissions are skyrocketing because of the lack of insurance. there's very little farm work when nobody was able to plant winter crops, and there won't be come spring either. trump's farm payments dn't go to farms here that are the REAL heart of kansas, they go to the corporate farms that pollute my state on a daily basis. so trump can go die, along with pence. preferably in a ball of fire i get to SEE.

real small town, and all the work base is agriculture related.

More than anything, I hate the venom he daily injects into his political discourse.
I disagreed with President Obama on most policy issues, and voted against him twice. But he always conducted himself with class and dignity. He didn't feel compelled to respond to every criticism with venom and insults.
Trump's constant lying (more provable falsehoods than any politician in American history!), his massive insecurities that make it impossible for him to ignore ANY criticism or disagreement, his stubborn insistence that he knows "MORE THAN ANYONE" about topics which it's painfully obvious he knows NOTHING, all that and his flailing, inconsistent policies, both foreign and domestic, not to mention his constant suggestions and proposals to do things which flagrantly violate the law and the Constitution . . . the man is mentally, morally, and psychologically unfit for public office!

I don't criticize anyone for individual views on the current President, whose conduct and remarks have given plenty of fertile ground for complaint, people are obviously entitled to have opinions on him, let him defend himself (or more in his style, let him rabidly counter-attack), but President Obama being half black doesn't insulate him from criticism and it doesn't necessarily make criticism of him racist.
Don't delete it, John, we should all be able to express ourselves politely without needing censorship or the death penalty. I hope we're all still cordial enough to one another despite disagreeing.

I think there will be. I think the whole 2 party deal is bulls**t myself...it should be about voting for the person, not the "party". Most, if not all the Republicans who kiss his ass detested him in 2015...now they scramble to kiss his ass. I think I was discussing human action. Politics of passion has not been in style for decades. If you don't think the "plan" is to make money, you would be naive. Of course I agree that money money money is a HUGE motivator. That doesn't mean I'm fooled. I also know I am rich compared to most people.

He's even more of an a***ole than Trump and some of the younger, more cosmopolitan women don't like him for that reason.
My point is people want to survive, they don't care if the president is a nice guy.

RC, I think people who do the most to serve their nation and community are the most laudable people and through those efforts have earned a certain status above those who haven't. If you notice I said various forms of service, which doesn't have to be military, it can be the taking on of any number of civic endeavors, with some professions, maybe teaching included, being in that number. Those who have been in the military, the Peace Corps, in programs that could be brought into being, those willing to step forward and demonstrate a commitment to putting their country and others ahead of themselves would probably be the best and wisest electorate within a political system and an improvement over the one we have now, which has resulted by your own admission in some bad decisions.
No system will ever be perfect but a meritocracy does seem a higher form of political evolution.

It always amazes me when people don't know the difference in reactionary and radical (and yet that person's vote is as good as someone else's who does) but who will throw the word fascist around like they think it raises their IQ.

(Slavery aside, in most ways it was a mess that would have resulted in a constant fight between the individual states that would have pushed for decentralization, and the national government every time it tried to impose outer control on them....think Yugoslavia without the Soviets making it work as long as it did.)
I think the Confederate states' idea that a President serve one six-year term with no re-election was not a bad idea, since it would have removed political campaigning from the President's job and let that person concentrate on statescraft and hopefully a legacy that bettered the country.

I've never been registered with any party, but I was brought up among Democrats, and all the rest of my family and many of my friends still are to various extents supporters of Democrats (though maybe not as strongly as they once were, it seems like), and until well in this century I primarily identified with what the Democrats were doing and still don't like the Republican Party enough to ever call myself a Republican.
If I have one overarching policy it's that people should do what they want to do insofar as it doesn't violate the Golden Rule.
