In all honesty, I know a lot of otherwise good and decent people who have fallen under his spell. People who donate to charities, work to feed the homeless, raise their kids to be honest and respectful - and yet somehow (I blame decades of indoctrination by right wing talk radio and FOX News) they are completely blind to the fact that he is everything we teach our kids not to be; everything that Jesus preached against, and everything that would totally outrage us if it was done by anyone else.

You mean like when Joe Biden got caught with stolen documents dating back to 1974?
Or when he got caught taking bribes from Burisma?
Or when Hilary wiped out a hard drive that was under subpoena & took a hammer to her staff's cell phones?
Joe Biden gave them back. Trump did not.
The other is bulls**t.
The third is also bulls**t.
And that's the least of his crimes. Trying to overturn the election with a coup is a crime.

If you read the 27 counts of the indictment, you will find abundant verification of the charges against Trump. It's worth noting that it wasn't Jack Smith that voted to indict Trump, nor was it Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton - it was a grand jury of people from Florida - a deep red state with a Republican governor. THEY reviewed the evidence and found it sufficient to justify 27 counts violating 7 Federal laws.
NOT A WITCH HUNT.
31 counts of willful retention of national defense information
One count of conspiracy to obstruct justice
One count of withholding a document or record
One count of corruptly concealing a document or record
One count of concealing a document in a federal investigation
One count of a scheme to conceal
One count of false statements and representations
Not much different front hilary & biden have gotten away with so far, the difference being, trump had decalcified his documents.

First of all, the allegations against Hillary Clinton were thoroughly investigated by a Republican House Committee that was desperate to indict her for something, ANYTHING. And by the Republican FBI Director James Comey - who even re-opened the investigation, a week before the election, essentially handing Trump the White House. In the end, she was cleared of any crime. Trump chanted "Lock her up!" throughout her campaign, but could find no excuse for doing so. NOT THE SAME.
Biden actually ordered his staff to search his papers for classified info after the Trump story became public to see if anything had been overlooked. When they found a handful of relatively low-level documents, he immediately invited the FBI to do a full investigation and cooperated in every possible way. NOT THE SAME.
Trump did NOT declassify the documents he held - in fact, they have him ON TAPE admitting the stuff he was showing to a friend (who lacked ANY security clearance) was "classified secret" and had not been declassified. DEFINITELY NOT THE SAME.
Not that any of this will convince you. But facts are what they are.
As far as "the worst administration in history," - I'M A HISTORIAN. Joe Biden's term is not done yet. He's had some failures and some accomplishments.
Every historian I know - and I know MANY - considers him a better President than his predecessor. Even many conservative historians rank Trump a failure.
My personal opinion? Compared to men like Lincoln, Washington, and FDR, Joe Biden is a mediocre President.
Compared to Trump - he IS Lincoln, Washington, and FDR rolled into one.
Biden makes Buchanan, Wilson, Johnson, Ford & Carter look like geniuses!
Let me say that I have worked in offices that handled many classified documents, and there is no way, simply no way, anyone in any position exposed to classified materials would be left unaware of the seriousness of what is often inside them.
Before you get close to them you are trained and periodically re-trained in procedures for handling anything classified. You not only receive extensive training and are closely monitored and audited to make sure you are following the procedures taught in training, you are required to pass tests that show you understand the nature of classified materials, which generally involves writing out passages relating to procedure and law in your own handwriting so that in the event of a violation there is no deniability, and you are without excuse held accountable.
Therefore I can only conclude in his gross mishandling of these materials President Trump:
1. Did not understand laws and procedures governing classified documents. (Which is too far-fetched for reality.)
2. Was unaware the materials were classified. (Which is too far-fetched for reality.)
3. Arrogantly felt himself above laws and regulations pertaining to the handling of classified materials, or callously disregarded procedure.
Politics aside, even with a former President there should be consequences for failures in any of these scenarios. It is far too serious.

No, I'm saying nobody should escape consequences for actions that disregard the higher good or the safety of others, and that's a concept that isn't political, it's legal and it's common sense. You, me, a sitting or former President should all be held accountable for negligence if it endangers others. My comments didn't carry any political sentiments at all and I won't go into politics here, but I'd feel the same about Hillary Clinton or President Biden or President Trump or my own mother. Power comes with responsibility, and some actions can get people killed. Trump should have done better, whether others made similar mistakes or not.

Statements such as this don't seem in the least bit scholarly, rather, the crazed ramblings of an angry radicalist.
You speak as if people with whom you disagree are somehow sub-human, having nothing to do with any level of education or lack there of.
To assume those with whom you disagree are somehow not capable of benevolence, kindness, responsibility & respect (and by your assumption, somehow should be capable of these character traits), is narcissistic and delusional.
And your statement shows a complete lack of comprehension of what I just said. I commented that many of my Trump-supporting friends displayed the very qualities you just accused me of denying them! Many decent people supported Trump, I just don't understand WHY.
MY OWN MOTHER voted for Trump, although if she had lived to see Jan. 6 I imagine she would have had separate thoughts.
But - this was what floored me: I heard pastors and Sunday School teachers and Christians I respected go on and on for 8 years about how much character, integrity, and marital fidelity MATTERED in a political leader while Bill Clinton was President. A serial adulterer was an oathbreaker who should never be trusted with the leadership of our nation. It was a universal mantra.
Then Trump came along and these SAME evangelical leaders suddenly decided character, integrity, and marital fidelity no longer mattered.
All that mattered was that he opposed the same people and movements they opposed.
The hypocrisy was stunning.

No, it's you who misread My post.
If you go back & reread your own post, you are clearly expressing your belief that those with whom you disagree SHOULDN"T have these traits.
It reads like you don't see HOW those with whom you disagree could have these types of positive personality traits.
That's how it reads.
As for the issue of morality, yes I see the hypocrisy, but on the same token, one must take into account the reputations of the clintons & the bidens.
Nobody's clean here, but free will and the freedom to make one's own decisions is still a cornerstone of life in America.

I did NOT say they could not possess those traits, in fact I pointed out that they did.

Look, I'm not in a Biden cult. I don't fly a Biden flag at my house, I don't have his face on a T-shirt, I don't go to Biden rallies or take my boat to Biden armada parades. IF he is corrupt as you say, then do what they did with Trump: Produce evidence that will stand up in a court of law, take it to a grand jury, and get an indictment, then go to trial. I think those who are provably corrupt should be punished.
I am an American veteran. I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic. Trump's appalling inability to understand his constitutional responsibilities, his unwillingness to learn them, and his refusal to ever admit that he DIDN'T know more than anyone about any topic soured me on his Presidency from the beginning. And on January 6, he became a domestic enemy of the United States.
