(For people outside the UK, this is someone standing for election. He is highly unlikely to win, but if he did it would cause a major upset in British politics and most likely make me fall off my seat and injure myself laughing).
I've been following the Binface saga with great amusement. Fully looking forward to the electoral debates.

Yes, he is running against the man I've recently been calling Count c**tface (and there is a word in there that I don't like using), as Farage engages in a bit of a political stunt to try and distract for him and his shady business dealings. The main parties are refusing to engage and Count Binface is his major opponent since the big parties are not fielding candidates.
Have any of these prank candidates ever won an election in the UK? It would send a strong message if they did.
Without googling, iirc The Screaming Mad Monster Party had a candidate or two elected over the years, possibly Screaming Lord Such himself. It is incredibly uncommon (to the best of my knowledge), but it happens.
EDIT. After a quick check it turns out The Screaming... didn't have any successful MPs, although I'd swear they had at least one in the 90s. Oh well, must be misremembering.

I know a porn star was elected to Italy's Parliament, but I think she ran as a "serious" candidate.

I recall that being in the newspapers at the time. Apparently a security guard didn't recognise her and wouldn't let her in their parliament, so she flashed her boobs at him and he then realised who she was and let her in.

Unfortunately, that is the national poll, whereas it's a very localised election, but it certainly doesn't hurt his chances. If he wins, I am going to make a good-sized donation to a deserving charity.

Farage (ol' Count c**tface himself) is trump's closest ally in the UK. It took him something like 7 or 8 tries to actually get elected as an MP. Word has emerged of another dodgy financial scheme that will see another investigation launched into his dealings.

Surely Farage chose Clacton because he thought that was the best chance for him to win. If he can't win there, it has to be the end of him, right?

no, Todd Durham, the creator of Hyperspace aka Gremloids, which had the character originally. He relented later, but by then Lord Binface had moved on, and this led to a Lord Buckethead vs Count Binface face off in 2019 in what can only be called the Battle of the Receptacles.

His term as an MP so far has been most notable for him spending as little time in Clacton as possible and certainly not representing the people who voted for him. When he does, he is bringing things that are against the working people he claims to represent and yet he still has people who support him. Sound familiar?
It would be very interesting to see what would happen should he lose to a comedy candidate (and I am not sure what the man behind Count Binface would do in that situation. Would he turn down the job or take it and do his best?).

And now the chap dressed as a fox (who is actually a bona fide wildlife activist) has withdrawn because the whole thing became too much of a farce.
Count Binface did not manage to win, but did manage to pull what I would say is a respectable almost 10,000 votes. Farage got somewhere in the region of 22,000, but didn't bother attending the count. Well, to be fair he didn't attend his duties when he was a European MP and hasn't attended Parliament very often or visited the area he is supposed to represent so its par for the course.
Is does beg the question why anyone would vote for him though, but I guess that is their choice.

His previous campaign he polled 85 votes so this is a huge thing. The outside possibility is that Farage is simply no longer taken seriously by anyone and support for his party collapses. It certainly hasn't done his credibility any good, he still has to face 2 parliamentary investigations over potential financial misconduct (which, if he's found guilty of it, could/would lead to another by-election).
