I thought it was great! If it makes you feel better, you're the same age as my older brother, and I still don't feel like he's that old.
Just a thought - My mother was one of 9 children born between 1938 and 1959. I have heard my uncles constantly lamenting about how old they are for the last 20 years - 20 YEARS of complaining about being old! They now go between complaining about being old and reminiscing about how young they were 20 years ago when they were whining about how old they were.
I think you have the right idea. Also, I love old dudes and when I smile at them, I mean it.
