Title: Lastman
Post by: Olivia Bauer on October 11, 2017, 06:32:50 PM
Lastman is an adult cartoon based on a French comic by Bastien Vivès.
It's a mini-series with each episode only being seventeen minutes long and is only available on a service called "VRV".

I saw ads for Lastman on YouTube and it piqued my interest. So I started a 30-day free trial of VRV to give it a watch.
The first few episodes aren't anything special, just a kinda generic action show. However I did decide to continue watching and found that it's actually deceptively good.
The comedy is spot on, the characters are interesting, the story has some intrigue, and it has some pretty freaky looking monsters and a bit of "body horror" thing going on.
Even the use of symbolism is pretty neat.

I know it won't be for everyone but I think it's worth it to just use the free trial to check it out. Again the episodes aren't long so you can binge the first season within a day.
It's only $10 /mo and comes with Crunchyroll so I have no complaints.
Also, while I haven't watched it yet but there's a VRV exclusive show called "Harmon Quest" based on a D&D campaign with Dan Harmon, the co-writer of Rick and Morty.
I can't tell you if it's any good but if you like Rick and Morty you may want to check it out.

I'm not surprised by lack of responses but I'm still a little sad.
This show is doomed to obscurity.
