Probably as important as weed day. Go celebrate.

I had a few of these yesterday (I added the gin shots, though):

If you haven't had radlers, they are half beer, half grapefruit juice. They're totally delicious but very low in alcohol (which is why I added the pony shots of gin).

I do have radlers sometimes, usually in Summer.

Here in Bavaria a radler is half beer half sparkling lemon lemonade. I do prefer the east european version which uses sparkling orange lemonade (note: never have a radler with orange lemonade in Bavaria. They will hang you). Sometimes I'll have one with coca cola which is called Schlußlichtmaas ("Your final beer"). It also includes a shot of cherry schnapps.

Here in Germany only teens and hipsters drink beer with any kind of non-sparkling fruit juice (note: never drink that in Bavaria or else, see above).

So as I hear tell, half beer, half lemonade is a "shandy" (outside of Germany, at least.) But maybe the sparkling part means it can be called a radler. (Of course, you can call it whatever you like!)

I did't know they call it shandy outside of Germany. Here in Germany a radler has always been beer & sparkling lemonade.

Beefeater!  One of my go-to gins.  But hell, I usually have Gilbeys in the house... so my standards are not high.  Once you've developed a taste for gin, it can get the better of you.  :teddyr:

In South Africa too, Claws: a shandy is the only alcohol I'll drink.  :drink:

Prost!  :drink:

Beer is very filling. German beer, drinking a pint of that, is just gonna fill my belly real quick.
Any beer will.
I think the problem is I'm short- and my small gut will not hold it.
I never puke on whiskey. Beer, any clear booze- like vodka, gin, tequila (ah!), home made wine- I may vomit.  So I just drink whiskey. I tried wine for a while...ok. I drank beer back in the early 80's.

Mostly I just drink whiskey.

I like beer.  I like wine.  I may try some Black Label tonight (I have an opened bottle left by my friend who died 10 years ago this October) but I generally do not drink whiskey.

I love beer (not as much as Brett Kavanaugh, but a lot), but I drink much less of it since I've been watching my weight. I drink a lot more whiskey, mostly bourbon (because I live in the heart of bourbon country) but I've been stretching out into Scotch lately. Rarely I will drink Tennessee whiskey, Irish whiskey, or Canadian whiskey.

There was once a South African brand of beer which was described as "like making love in a canoe: very close to water".  :drink: :drink: :tongueout:

I hope to visit the mother country someday soon and have some German beers there.

It would be awesome to go to an Oktoberfest (https://www.oktoberfest.de/en) in Munich and have one of those big ass glasses of beer and have authentic German food.
