Title: What's everyone giving for Christmas?
Post by: bob on December 11, 2022, 05:01:44 PM
My mom will be getting a $50 gift card for Barnes and Noble.
My brother got 2 huge Star Wars puzzles and a The Nightmare Before Christmas edition of Trivial Persuit.
My dad got The Fog (original), Get Out on bluray and the Band of Brothers miniseries.
My cousin got a $40 gift certificate for a local store for him, all the way in Michigan - via name exchange in my family.

I been telling my adult relatives I'll be making donations to Ukrainian war relief in their names.

Some small knickknacky things for everybody, plus:

My husband is going to get his PSN subscription renewed for the year.

I got my mom a pretty sweater, since sweater season is two-thirds of the year over there.

My father asked we not get him anything but I still bought him a couple cool books.

I bought my oldest a gift certificate for time on a telescope good for any one of a number of available nights in 2023.

My son wanted his own night vision goggles, so I'm having a friend snag him a pair.

And my youngest has a canopy bed coming later in the week.

My godson is hard to shop for so I got him a Target gift certificate.

Gift cards. Bought half in October, the other half in November. Bought holiday envelopes last week and and put the gift cards in already. All I have to do is hand them out when the time comes. Good thing is I don't have to write names on them since they are all the same.

My godson's mom told me that as Christmas presents her friend Heideron* bought everyone at work white candles that when burned draw angels into your life. Each candle was sixty dollars. Now I don't mean to knock Heideron's spirituality, but when I heard someone in this world was willing to pay sixty dollars for a candle to "draw angels" I began to wonder where I could market my own competing brand? Maybe even branch off into demon-attracting black candles to sell to Goths, right?

Must do this. Must do this.

*Sorry, Heideron is German and I don't know for sure how to spell her name but that's how it sounds. Hi-duh-rawn.
