SHAOLIN VS NINJA (1988) - Bought this for $1 somewhere. A slightly entertaining Kung Fu flick. The action wasn't terrible, but it wasn't very well done. The Chinese who played the parts of Japanese Ninja didn't even use Japanese martial arts to fight the Shoalin fighters. Both sides fought with the same Chinese style for the most part. Oh, and guess who wins in this Kung Fu entry? The Japanese sword technique was attrocious and the Ninja all had little Hitler mustaches. Some how the film manages to keep you watching and the head Shaolin monk was something with the long eyebrows and beard. Worth the $1 payed for it, but nothing more.

By the way we saw the real Shoalin Monks perform in Atlantic City about 4 years ago and one of them signed something on my daughters souvenier at the event. The show told the history/story of the Shoalin Temple.

I've seen this one.  It has a sequel (or at least a movie with the same actor playing the same head monk) involving a band of bandits, each of whom has a seperate martial arts specialty

Wow, finally someone responded after 11 days . : ) Well SHOALIN VS NINJA is not a terrible film, but I can imagine the sequel could easily be better film.

No need to hurry on this one ThadC, but if you can pick it up for $1 on DVD then it is worth it. Check you dollar stores regularly.

There are no dollar stores Norway. Maybe I will see if I can find it when I am back in the US tomarrow.
