Been busy and haven't been able to post any reviews in a while.  I'll try to remember what films I've watched...

Class Of 1984 - Watched this one last night.  Not a bad flick.  Perry King plays Andrew Norris, the new music teacher at Lincoln High School.  The school is overrun by gangs, and violence, drug dealing, sex are the norm.  Norris is singled out by one particular group of punks and mayhem ensues.  As I said, it's certainly a good movie, but Timothy Van Patten just didn't work for me as the gang leader.  He seemed to be too much of a pretty boy to be running a bunch of thugs.

Wallace And Grommit: Curse Of The WereRabit - I'm a huge fan of Aardman animation.  I've always loved their Wallace And Gromit shorts, and Chicken Run was fun.  I finally got around to seeing Wallace and Grommit's newest adventure, and I must say that I loved it.  Every second of the film was great, and it made me feel like a kid again.  My two year old absolutely loved it as well.  Great family film.

10/10

Popcorn - Picked this one up from DeepDiscountDVD the other day for only a few bucks.  I had read about the film in the past, but it's not one that you hear about often.  The story is about a bunch of students who want to hold a horror-thon at a closed down theater.  The plan is to use William Castle type of stunts during the films.  Smellovision, shock chairs, health waiver signings, the whole deal.  But, the problem is that the students are winding up dead, and someone is taking their faces.  Could it be the psycho who ran a "film cult" and murdered his family on stage before supposedly burning in an inferno?  Who cares?  The film is fun, has quite a bit of humor and one of the best bad guys that I've seen in a while.  Well worth tracking down.

9/10

Toxic Avenger - I have fond memories of the original Toxie film after seeing it numerous times on USA back when USA was good.  I rented it from Netflix recently and I must say that it hasn't held up very well over time.  It looks awful, but the campy fun is still there.  The most disturbing thing about the film is that I used to work with someone who looks exactly like Toxie did when he was still human.  Now that is scary.

7/10

Domino - Wow, this one is hard to describe.  The story follows Domino Harvey as she goes from rich child to bounty hunter in California.  It's a film that has to be seen to be understood.  It's like Tony Scott put a million different strange elements into a shotgun and the end result is Domino.  Some have described it as "acid" filmmaking since it will go from extremely fast to slow motion within a moment, colors fade in and out and it's generally just a freak-out.  I'm not doing it justice.  Just see it, it's a great film if strange.

9/10

My Big Fat Independent Movie - How about: "My Big Fat Independent Disappointment"?  I thought that Chris Gore would have enough sense to not go all low brow humor with this one, but it starts with "the memento guy" getting tapped from behind by a big black male prostitute....and it only gets worse from there.  Avoid at all costs.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

Picked up the "Wallace and Grommit" myself lately and Jenna also really liked it.  It was enjoyable and several parts made both my wife and me laugh out loud.  It was also interesting to see them doing the mock horror build ups, which exhibited more skill and understanding than 90% of the horror movies I have seen in the last few years.

I loved Domino.
Keira Knightly never looked so hot with a shotgun.

This film was shot in a similar fashion to "Man On Fire" with Denzel Washington only not as "acidic".

One thing though...the special features section contains an interview with the real Domino Harvey and her real life fellow bounty hunters.
Whatever you do...DO NOT watch that interview with her until after you watch the movie.

Trust me on this.

If you watch it...then you will not....I repeat...absolutely will not be able to get the images of what the "real" Domino & Choco look like out of your head and it will clog up your thinking while watching the film.  Unfortunately, I watched the special features before I watched the movie.
You'll understand what I mean when you watch the special features AFTER the film.
