Made in 1959 THE KILLER SHREWS is a real B-Movie. A real cheapy that is fun viewing with dogs dressed up as giant shrews attacking humans on this mostly uninhabited island were a scientist is conducting genetic test on shrews. Now, I remembered only part of this film from my youth were the people are protecting themselves in these metal drums, but now I have just seen the whole film (i believe I remembered the best part of this film) The film is directed by Ray Kellogg who also directed THE GIANT GILA MONSTER the same year. If you have never seen THE KILLER SHREWS then check it out.

Flangepart

A great MST, of corse. A must for all Dog people. I mean, people who love dogs....not "Dog People" as such.....hummm...would Were wolves be the ultimate Dog People? Wooof....."Werewolf? There wolf....there castle."

Young Frankenstien was on AMC the other night Flangepart. How about ISLAND OF DR. MONREU (spelling ?).  for dog people

Both of those were great.  I got Giant Gila monster at Ames for 99 cents in a package with another movie (something about planets coliding).  I've seen Giant Gila monster like 50 times because I always just put it on.  Stuff like that and Beast of Yucca Flats are really in another class.  Like those Warhol movies where he'd film people sleeping or film the Empire State Building.

I've been wanting to see THE BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS for years, I might have to purchase it. I love the clip Andrew has on his review page of Tor Johnson throwing the rock with a narrator talking.

Coleman Francis' films (Yucca Flats, Red Zone Cuba, The Skydivers) are something special indeed... Some of the dialog in Yucca Flats has to be heard to be believed...

"Randy, is that water?"

Vermin Boy- have you seen/ heard any of Neil Hamburger's stuff? I think you'd like it.  He's sort of a modern stand up comedy version of Ed Wood

sample jokes from a show a year or so ago
"Why did Julia Roberts cover herself in s**t? Because she was horny!!" "Why did Jar Jar Binks cover himself in s**t? cuz it's a stupid character!!" much more to this phenomanon

Vermin Boy

I think I remember hearing something about Hamburger years ago, but only vaguely. Thanks for the recommendation, sounds right up my alley... Kinda reminds me of those MAD Magazine "Non-Jokes" articles ("It sounds like a joke... But it's not!"). I'll keep my eyes peeled...
