I'm looking for a black and white movie, my guess is that it is from the fifties but I'm not positive.

It featured all the best elements of a bad movie

-A bald telepath

-An alien invasion, where the alien was looking not for food but for slaves

-A group of resistance fighters that included the telepath, an acrobatic boxer and a pair of con artists

The final sequence shows the alien standing with the con artists, auctioning off the rights to Earth, and offering the con artists as an example of average humanity.  When the auction is over, the alien splits the money with the con artists....

The movie this most sounds like to me is an italian film called "Sette uomini d'oro nello spazio"
... aka Captive Planet
... aka Metallica
... aka Space Odyssey (USA)
... aka Star Odyssey
It was directed by Al Bradley aka Alfonso Brescia. It has your telepath, the gymnastic boxer, alien auction, slaves etc. However, it's from the seventies and it's in color. It's also part of a series of movies which includes War of the planets, war of the robots, Beast in space, and Battle of the stars. The easiest version to find is probably the cheap-o dvd of Star Odyssey. I think these movies are actually in the public domain. Hope this helps.

I got the impression that it was much older.  Then again, I think I may have been watching it on a black & white tv....

I assume you've seen it.

More specific scenes are:

The bald telepath making contact with the alien and making comment about his mind or will being enormously powerful.

The bald telepath arming everybody with 'improved' versions of the aliens high tech swords.

The problem is, I can't find any pics of the actors involved or screen shots from the movie.

Having tracked down a review of Star Odyssey on Million Monkey Theatre

I must agree that you are correct.  Now all I have to do is track this sucker down and pop a little popcorn.....
