I'm a big fan of MST3K and on one their dvd's they have an interview with Kevin Murphy and Mike Nelson. One of them mentions a movie that's about hillbilly child brides and they said they weren't going to say the name,in case some of us freaks might want to find it...I was wondering if anyone might know anything about it and if you could rent it...Thanks!!! Abbott and Costello in "Comin' Round The Mountain" has a hillybilly bride story. It's a good one ! ! ! Welcome to the board mrgb46

I don't think Abbott and Costello would do a 'child bride' thing.  It's the wrong kind of creepy.

The only two I can think of are "Great Balls of Fire", & "The Child Bride of Short Creek".

I'm gonna guess they were talking about Child Bride (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0029989/-- damned if I can remember how to do links), a 1930s exploitation film by roadshow master Kroger Babb. From what I've read, it plays the familiar old exploitation-film trick of using a strong moral stance against the subject matter as an excuse to put it on screen for the thrill seekers... so, given the subject matter, I can understand why the boys at MST3K opted not to use it.

Which DVD is the interview on, by the way?

Oooops.......wrong kind of bride. Abbot & Costello do a "hillbilly bride" which is what I meant. They run into a mountain witch who makes up a love potion.

HOWDY! Sounds like Child Bride(1941). Sinister Cinema sells it...I think Angelo Rossitto has a small ...er...short...uh...part in it. By the way- I'm new here!
