We are off to see the fireworks.  What are your plans today?

Ash

Didn't do much else though.

Drank with the neighbors at a BBQ...all this time I thought they were asses...turns out they aren't all that bad.

Went to Yoga in the morning, for lunch at home we had nice bbq ribs, great watermellon, and corn on the cob, then went to watch Fireworks/Ice Cream in Ocean City, New Jersey.

Severe scattered thunderstorms were in the area with off and on showers with lots of lightning that was just as good as the fireworks. We stuck it out for the 1 hour rain delay then the  fireworks on the beach went off in the usual fashion. Ocean City always has nice music/fireworks. First they had a live band playing summer songs. Then we waited for the fireworks. The recorded music over the pa system was the usually mix of patriotic songs and my favorites "Proud to be an American" and Neil Diamonds "Coming to America" which is always an emotional segment for the lighted night skies. This Weekday holiday and rains kept the crowds away which made for good seats and an easy escape from Ocean City. Usually after the show you can't get out for hours. All in all a nice 4th of July.

We also followed the news during the day. With the Space Shuttle, Korea, Isreal, and the latest in New Jersey politics.

Ash

Scott...I simply cannot picture you doing Yoga.
No way!
LOL!

And I wish they'd played Neil Diamond....our music is that "Proud to be an American" crap and other similar variants.

I grilled some nice T-bones, roasted some corn on the cob, and baked some potatoes. Later we shot some fireworks of our own and enjoyed watching the neighbor with theirs.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Ash

I forgot to mention that earlier in the day, a couple of friends & I watched "Independence Day" on DVD.
That film is a riot!

It's obligatory you know...watching that movie on the 4th.

We also watched the Nathan's hot dog eating contest on ESPN.

Basically I watched my Yankees get the snot kicked out of them.  Also watched the World Cup.  And babysat my dog, who's been very unhappy this week, between fireworks and all the thunder we've had.

We grilled burgers and hotdogs. Our    town didn't do fireworks this year. DAMN! So, me and the family went to the laundry mat and did laundry! So fun. Anyway,in the middle of this torture, three teenagers walked up to us,one which was blazing drunk. My step-son,Jim,tried to help drag the guy to his home, and for some reason they got into a fight. This occured somewhere down the street. I was talking to an old hippie guy, when Jim runs up and says-"We gotta get outta here! I just knocked a guy out!" So I says-"No-YOU gotta get outta here-I gotta wash clothes." So the old hippie guy says "Hey man-I'll give ya a ride home." And that was my exciting 4th of July.

Scott,

I'm already a master of that.  I do it every night between 11PM and 6:30AM.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.
