I feel like I have asked this a long time ao but can't find the post...anyway I saw it when I was little at a drive in with my parents.  Probably not the best thing for me to watch at this age, but I remember the killer being a woman with a blonde wig and sun glasses...I think a trench coat type jacket.  One scene that sticks in my mind is she kills this guy in the elevator and when she leaves, his toe gets jammed in the elevator door and you see blood.  Another part is this girl in a long fur coat seducing some guy and all she had underneath was undergarments.

Anyone know what I am talking about...must have been done around the the early 80's or maybe late 70's.

Thanks

Sounds a bit like DRESSED TO KILL.

As I recall, the killer is actually male, correct?

I agree it sounds like "Dressed to Kill", but it also sounds a little like scenes from the Steve Martin comedy "The Man with Two Brains" there is an "elevator killer" in that film who injects people in the backside with Windex (and turns out to be Merv Griffin!) and also when Martin is looking for a body to transfer the brain he has fallen in love with into he goes scouting for hookers (shades of "The Brain/Head that Wouldn't Die") and picks a gorgeous blonde in a fur coat who flashes him. He later reconsiders, even though she says she doesn't mind being killed, because she has an annoying voice. Just a shot in the dark.
blah blah stuff blah blah obscure pop culture reference blah blah clever turn of phrase blah blah bad pun blah blah bad link blah blah zzzz.....

Definitely not Man With Two Brains.  My step father owned it and watched quite a few times growing up.  Great flick.

It is definitely Brian DePalma's "Dressed to Kill", based on the description ---
The segment described in "The Man With Two Brains" is an intentional parody of "Dressed to Kill" --
***SPOILER!!***

The killer in Dressed To Kill is . . .
