The Burgomaster

I just bought this DVD and I'm not sure why.  It was released to theaters in the midst of the "mad slasher" craze when movies like FRIDAY THE 13TH, PROM NIGHT, WHEN A STRANGER CALLS, and HE KNOWS YOU'RE ALONE were at the height of their popularity.  I never saw it during its theatrical run, but I did see it on cable in the 1980s and I didn't like it.  Two decades later, I STILL don't like it.

Nicholas Worth (who reminds me of a demented George Kennedy) plays a beefy, weightlifting Vietnam vet who strangles women while he sweats and wheezes and laughs.  Everything about this movie is cheesy, from the script to the acting to the film editing.  But what more would you expect from Crown International?  Sorry - - I can't recommend this one.
"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Scott

Yea, those Crown International films are hard to sit through Burgomaster. I have a whole bunch of them from my HORRIBLE HORROR COLLECTION from RHINO including DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE which I have yet to see. The best of the bunch so far has been THE HEARSE.
