hello again,

After a long search in all the video stores in Whangarei, I finally found an original release of ROBOCOP, one of my favorite films.

I had not seen an uncut version for so many years, and as i watched it, it was awesome to see all the bits that had been cut out over the re-releases over the years. murphys hand getting blown off up close, more gun shot wounds to the chest, blood p**sing out of the stump of his arm, the back of his head blowing off, it was all good.

Its quite funny, Starship Troopers (another fav film) is kind of similar to Robocop, just listen for a minute, Robocop has the usual interuptions from the news casts, with little stories not relating to the actual film or drug trafficing, and so does Star Troopers, set out kind of the same dont you recon?

Anyway, im going up to the video store to see if he'll sell it to me for $50, thats the best offer i can give him at the moment, but im sure he wont sell, apparently hes into uncut original films too, he owned one of the first video stores in whangarei, thats why he has so many original release films. in pretty good quality too.

Anyway again, ill let you get back to watching your own fav films.

Sure , Robocop is a fantastic film.  So why the hell have they released on DVD  over here in Old Blighty with the other two inferior sequels as a box set? Jeez, if I wanted the crappy kiddie friendly 3rd instalment I woulda asked for it.

Dick, I am VERY dissapointed.

The reason Starship Troopers and Robocop 1 are similar is because they were direced by the same guy!

But for 25 quid you cant complain, I'll never watch Robocop 3 but the Robocop 2 included is the first time that movie has been uncut in the UK.

You can always buy the Robocop uncut release for 12 quid by itself (although not many places stock it)

Robocop 1: Good and a lot of fun; sure you can see through the special effects a little but so what?

Robocop 2: Also fun and not nearly as bad as it might have been, a slightly crappier but worthy sequel in my book (except for the female cop, they needed to get someone easier on the eyes, just my opinion)

Robocop 2: Should never be spoken of or see the light of day, it was worse than having my dog step on my crotch (too much info but it's an effective image I think).

How did the movies go downhill so fast?

Starship Troopers was not only directed by the same guy, it was written by the same guy as well.

Several other members of the RoboCop crew worked on Starship Troopers.  If Peter Weller had played Michael Ironside's role, it could have qualified as a reunion movie.

I originally saw Robocop on one of the pay channels years ago, and I seem to recall a line that isn't in any of the airings I've seen since then. I could SWEAR that in the final scene in the boardroom, he said the line about not being able to act against an officer of the company, twice. The second time was after Jones had grabbed the head of the company and was holding him hostage. Is this in the uncut version? I know I saw the scene showing his hand getting blown off.
