On Saturday night, I went to exhumed films, which takes place at least once a month, in Philly, at a place called the international house. They usually show a double feature of old (and sometimes not so old) films from the slasher and exploitation genres. This month, to celebrate valentine's day, the lineup was My Bloody Valentine and Candyman. Bloody Valentine probably stands as one of the most generic slasher flicks I've ever had the horror of sitting through, though it was fun to see it on the big screen. Candyman is a film I've always enjoyed, and it alone was worth the trip out. Anyone who lives in the Philly or South Jersey areas should check it out, not only for the movies but to meet up with people who are as dorky and obcessed as yourselves. "Tonight, we will honor the greatest writers in America with a modest 9 by 12 certificate and a check for three thousand dollars...three thousand dollars? Stephen King makes more than that for writing boo on a cocktail napkin." - Jimmy Breslin

I have a secret wish to own a movie house or drive in...where I could do the exact same thing.I would show cool double features or better yet something like the old "Saterday Nite SHOCK-A-RAMA" type of things,or all-nite movie marathons of Z budget films.
