THE PUMPKIN KARVER (2006)

This movie didn't make much sense, but at least it has eye-catching DVD cover art.

Most of the movie takes place at an outdoor Halloween party on a farm.  The obnoxious teens are dressed as Austin Powers, the Incredible Hulk, a pirate, a cat, Charlie's Angels, etc.  They sit around for a good chunk of the movie listening to a live band and playing stupid drinking games and eating bugs.

Once in awhile, a killer who resembles Jason Vorhees in a rotten pumpkin mask shows up and kills someone.

In my favorite scene, a guy gets decapitated while taking a p**s and his dead body continues to urinate on his severed head!

Other than that, it's the usual hack and slash routine (and there isn't enough hacking or slashing to make this movie worthwhile).  For the most part, the gore effects are just so-so.  In one scene, you can clearly see the make-up appliance on a woman's face when she is being slashed (the make-up doesn't quite blend in with the color or contour of her face).

Certainly not the worst movie I've ever seen, but it was much more boring than it should have been.
