New Line Cinema has aquired the rights to make Gears of War into a movie.

I own Gears of War for my Xbox 360 and it's one of the coolest action games I've ever played.
It's won several awards so far including Game of the Year.
Check out Gamespot's video review to get an idea of what the film might be like.

I have seen this one and it has some very cool visuals.  I am not sure about the storyline, so I do not know how much source material they have to start with.

Meh.

I don't own a next gen-console, so I've obviously missed out on Gears Of War.  I've seen a good bit of gameplay on youtube and such, but haven't tried it for myself.  I have a feeling it'll turn out like the Doom film did.  Not bad, not great...just "meh".

But I must say that the game looks good.  I'm a HUGE fan of Epic games especially since they're out of NC, and because the various Unreal Tournament games have burned up days of my life.  Word is that the head designer of Gears, Cliffy B will be the executive producer of the film.  Hopefully his input will not be ignored.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

I just hope that the director will not be Uwel Boll.  Does anyone still have a petition for him not to make anymore videogame movies?  I had the unfortunate displeasure of having BloodRayne in my libary (and the fortunate pleasure of seeing Kristanna Loken naked).
We all know Bill is a little nuts, but George has actually tasted them.

Hey... I don't care too much for you Uwe Boll haters...  If the Gears of War movie gets any farther than the Halo one did, I would be pround to see Boll tackle it.
