I like Scifi, but not as much anymore. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like 3/4ths of the day it is all Stargate or the new Star Trek shows, or dredson files or some other drab show like that. It is just a constent marathon of those shows, and not a whole lot of movies. And when there are movies, they are constant repeats, or just so boring they wouldn't even be fun to watch as a B movie. Scifi was definitely better when I was younger, that is all I would watch (along with Gameshow network, and the old cartoons hehe)

I just wish Scifi would stop putting so much shows on instead of movies.

I agree. I mean I like SGI and Star Trek, but how many times can you watch an ep.
SciFi channel was definetly better when I was younger, not sure if It's because my mindset has grown since then, or the've gotten worse. It's got to be cheaper to show some good B movies, than create your own shlock.
The last good SciFi original movie I saw was Painkiller Jane; and I understand they are turning it into a weekly series.
The untap'd potential of the network just irks me.  :buggedout:

I watched that Gargoyles movie.  It started out fairly well, the acting was respectable and the special effects weren't as embarrassing as usual.  It had a nice atmosphere to it as well.  But about halfway through it, the action sequences just got sooooo stupid.  They shot down a German fighter plane, with a mortar.  Nailed it on the first shot even.  Then a group of German soldiers attacked the American and British troops, and were mowed down in mere seconds.  Apparently German tactics required them to stand out in the open and never take cover behind trees or anything.  The only survivor was the German commander, who wounds one of the Americans, and the Americans don't even shoot back.  One guy runs up to his wounded comrade and comforts him.  It's not until the German guy starts making a speech that somebody finally decides to shoot him.  In another part, an American mows down a bunch of Germans with a machine gun.  Then he jumps out from behind cover, mere feet in front of the Germans, and goes to a truck to get another gun.  The Germans just stand there, looking at him.  Didn't the Germans have any guns or something?  Finally the Germans make their way around behind him and hit him over the hear with a rifle butt.  I mean, sure, you can hit somebody over the head with a rifle, but they're actually a far more useful weapon if you take advantage of the fact that bullets come out the other end.  The ending was a letdown as well, it was probably the least exciting action sequence in the whole movie.

It's kind of puzzling that the people who made this obviously had some (slight) talent, but just when they got me interested they totally ruined it with laughably unbelievable action sequences.

The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

QuoteOH and why in the hell is the Sci-fi channel airing Wreslin' shows now? The ECW or what ever it is.

I guess they were trying to balance things and decided they needed a little less SCIENCE, and a bunch more FICTION. .

Oh, man....REIGN sounds like another SS DOOMTROOPER. Oh, i am SO going to fast forward. I bet they get the Gargoyles Vs. airplanes wrong, too. How fast do the stone monsters fly? Will it matter? I'll be suffering after i watch...well, most of the tape.
Thanks for the warning.

Dog Soldiers is on Sci-Fi tonight at 11:00 PM Pacific time, if you're interested. This is a great werewolf movie, worth watching.

I thought Reign of the Gargoyles was just ok, not real good, but still watchable if there's nothing else going on, in fact it's on again at 9:00 PM tonight, I'm not going to watch though. I do plan on seeing the other two movies, who knows, they may be good, as Mr. Gump would say, "you never know what you're gonna get."
