THE FIGHTING OF SHAOLIN MONKS (1977) This is a good classic of old school Kung Fu movies. A Buddhist monk travels far seeking a disciple and he finds one in who is a village doctor who doesn't want to be a disciple. The doctors girlfriend points the monk in the wrong way when asking for the doctor which causes him to arrive days later. When the monk arrives they find that a Taoist Priest has taken the doctors fathers position as provincial benefactor when the Taoist Priest brings rain to the drought ridden region. Then kills the father and the doctor(son) wants revenge and the Buddhist monk happens to be looking for his future disciple when this transpires. The Buddhist monk is a real master whom the girlfriend accidental kills with a mild strike to the master. During the funeral they find the coffin empty except for his slipper which floats up into the air as the master uses the slipper as a means to give the disciple another lesson in self-defense as the slipper attacks him. Yes, there are many quirky moments.

(7 Out of 10 Stars)  You'll get a kick out of this one. The audio was scratchy on my copy from Media Movies & More.
