Here is a great movie that has men with jet-packs and laser weapons.
The plot synopsis from Allmovie.com goes:

Shim Hyung Rae's monster movie Reptilian (also known as 2001 Yonggary) plays like a tribute (a low-budget, grade-Z tribute) to the classic Japanese monster movies of the fifties. General Murdock (Dan Cahman) must stop the destructive dinosaur before the president attacks it with nuclear weaponry. Enthusiasts of old Godzilla movies, as well as all those who miss the glory days of Mystery Science Theater 3000, will certainly enjoy this unintentionally campy romp. â€" Perry Seibert

A great Movie!!!!

I hated Reptilian/Yonggary. Its bad. REALLY BAD! It has moments of life (the jet packs were neat, when the monster first materializes in the bay and takes out the bridge, and the final monster battle was decent), but otherwise its really dull and very poorly written. I won't even mention the aliens that look like they should be villains on Thuderbirds. Ultimately Reptilian/Yonggary truly is a movie that was made for MST3K. I suspect if they were still on the air, they probably would have done this movie, especially since its now airing on the Sci-Fi Channel. At least it was better than Pulgasari.

Oh,yeah. I got this one at half price books, so i can rip it at my leasure. My dvd has a pitch control , and it was fun playing with the voices. "ol Yon himself had potential, but this one needed lots of woth to be Godzilla grade. Ah...the power of cheese.

Reptilian is Korean.

Anyhoo, here is a Kaiju movie so bad that my son could not finish it, and he watched Kraa! The Sea Monster three times in a row.

Speaking of Kraa!  Reptilian felt like a Full Moon Movie on a sligtly larger than average budget.

Half price books huh?  I love that place, I can sell anything there.

So a yutz like me can buy it! Seriously, i've gotten some good prices, but ya' gotta be there when the stuff is available, or you can loose it.  Hummm....do ya' think the boys flying the jet packs were useing "Kimshee" power? I've eaten some, and vapor trails were involved!

I must say, "Reptilian" did better in my book than "Kraa!" did.
The annoying little alien in "Kraa" (half Boogen, half Italian) drove me nuts, along with the stupid secondary plot to save the kids in their giant galactic font ball.

"Reptilian" at least had me guffawing, not due to terrible acting, but the absurd things happening.  I remember one fellow being impaled by a tooth or horn when Yonggary revived.  Then there is the jet pack brigade, who could forget them.  Last, but not least, the aliens are able to teleport Yonggary at will, but when he reverts to helping the human race they send another monster to destroy him.  Why not just teleport Yonggary onto the moon?

Humm...i think when the Rocket Jocks busted the head crystal on Yonn, they freed him, and broke the "Transporter Lock", but, yeah, if you can transport the total mass of a creature his size, what do ya' need him for. Just teleport all your opponents off into space, and let 'em float around awhile. It don' make no sent to me, cisco.
