THE BEATNIKS (1960) - This is a good JD film. It's about a bunch of punks who rob a liquor store for $400 and while stopping for a bit to eat the leader of the gang sings near the jukebox and a recording agent hears him sing and likes it. He's offered to go on TV and later to cut a record, but his friends hold him back and cause many problems. There is one scene that is cut from the film and it's the murder of the bartender. Again this is a good film in my opinion and I also hear that MYSTERY THEATER 3000 did this one, but really you can watch it without the robots. Check it out. Bought it as part of a double feature $1 disk.

I did see the MSTK version...and I found it to be very enjoyable...(not the 'bots...whom I DON"T like! :hatred:). I like movies that feature sub-cultures from the past...also lotsa fun! Or..."Hep,Daddy -O"!
I rember that BUCKET of BLOOD had a 'beat' style club as the main setting...a place for the loony Dick Miller to diplay his "art".
    Dig those crazy lids,man!

Love to have this in my pad! The MOST,baby!
Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)

BUCKET OF BLOOD is a good one. Remember this one as a kid in the 70's with the cat in the wall being plastered. Saw it later again as one of my very first b-movies after visiting this website.
