Best Aerosmith studio album.

My personal favorite Aerosmith album is the 1976 release Rocks.  Just fantastic from front to back.  One of the true rock classics of all time that really set the new bar for blues type hard rock/metal from there on out.    Fave cuts would be Back in the Saddle, Last Child, Nobody's Fault, Sick as a Dog & Lick and a promise.

2nd favorite would be Toys in the Attic.

While I'm much more of an old school fan, I also happen to think that Permanent Vacation & Pump, though a bit of a different style are really great albums that stand alongside their older albums really well.  It's after those 2 highly successfull comeback releases that their track record has gotten  really hit/miss. They'll have a few massive hits off of some albums in the 90's to push the record sales to multi-platinum heights, but the rest of the albums usually aren't all that great. 

Honkin' on Bobo, which was their 1st straight up blues album really didn't do all that much for me. Which is surprising as I was expecting it to be great, but I guess that this veteran's act's great days are well in the past now.

In the early to mid 1990s, there was a radio station in Chicago called 103.5 The Blaze.  It was a truly excellent blend of alternative, industrial, and popular rock past and present.  It inevitably met its demise and became some Clear Channel mouthpiece so I did what any fan would have: sold my radio.  I set out to buy the albums, good and bad, that were part of its rotation and return to audio bliss.

There's a relevant point here...

On one particular outing, I found, among a few other titles, Aerosmith's Get A Grip in the used bin.  I'll never forget the look of pure, pitying disdain shot at my by the hipster clerk when I went to settle for purchase.  He had such strong, contemptuous, unremitting hatred for Get A Grip that after mocking me for a short eternity with another cashier, he further discounted it to $1.  Haha.

In retrospect, that seems fair.

ROCKS! "Nobodys Fault"! The very first rock concert I went to was in the '70's...it was Aerosmith... ,and those guys Who sang "I WAnna Kiss You  All Over"...EXILE,...I think...?-at Wings Stadium. I Smoked so much pot while in line to see it,I got sick and puked-I guess drinking the bong water,which was MD20/20 didn't help matters.    In the late 80's,'about 89-'90,I saw them again,with a then obscure band called the BLACK CROWES opening,at Wings again! No bong water that time...Always hadda soft spot for the GET YOUR WINGS album too..."Train Kept a Rollin'"!

GET YOUR WINGS    Simply for the classics like Train Kept A Rollin', Same Old Song And Dance and lesser known favs like Lord Of The Thighs. Of course Toys In The Attic is an awesome piece of sound candy.  The 80s did continue to have that Aerosmith sex drugs and rock n roll flare with Pump and probably my all time favorite album title, Permenant Vacation.  Through the 90s I lost touch with them although I'm still partial to certain songs on Get A Grip and Nine Lives.

I've never drank bong water before though I've smoked my fair share of weed back in my youth.  I would think that would be very disgusting tasting.   

But anyway, I saw Aerosmith live on both the Permanent Vacation & Pump tours.  I can't off the top of my head remember who opened, but I think that Tesla opened on the Pump tour.

They were both most excellent shows.

Damn, and you lived to tell us about it?  MD 20/20 is lethal by itself, much more so when drank after being used for bong water.   

Other than that, I have no opinion on the poll.  I dislike Aerosmith.  Some of their older stuff from the 70s was alright, but quite a bit of their music is torture to me.
