I always loved the parody of Mr. Wizard on the "Dinosaurs" show.

"We're going to need another Timmy!"

You know, I doubt we could have such a straightforward science show these days.  Mr. Wizard felt like a man from the same time as WWII, "Casablanca," and everybody going to the double feature at the movies.
