I often visit www.filmcritic.com every Friday to read their reviews of the new movies released each week.
As I was searching around on the site earlier, I found this cool article where the editors chose the top 50 movie endings of all time.

It's pretty interesting.   :thumbup:
I've seen about half of the films on it.

Check it out here:

What do you think?
Are there any other movie endings that you'd consider to be great?

The Burgomaster

I guess it's all a matter of opinion, but I would add the following:

* INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS (both McCarthy & Sutherland versions, for different reasons)

* THE FRENCH CONNECTION

* CARRIE

* HALLOWEEN

* WAR OF THE WORLDS (original)

* STRAW DOGS

* THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE (original)

* JAWS

* NOTORIOUS!

WHAT!!??? No KING KONG???? DENIED!!!!
The 1933 Kong,of course. The bi-plane battle...and him looking sadly at Ann,gently sets her down...and topples into history."Twas Beauty killed the Beast."
.APOCALYPSE NOW-"This is the end,my freind..." droons Jim Morrison,as Hell on Earth is blown to smithereens in slo-mo.
.EASY RIDER-Cap and Bucky getting finally get to head to Florida,and go where they were headed the whole time...oblivian.
.The WILD ANGELS-"Go where? theres no where left to go."
.SAVING PRIVATE RYAN-"Tell me I was a good man." One of the very few times I almost shed a tear because of a movie. And a war movie at that!
.BRIDE of FRANKENSTEIN-"We...belong dead." Indeed.
.PUBLIC ENEMY-The gangsters bring back Jimmy Cagney...stiff as a board. His brother in shock...as a record plays...his mother happily singing in the backround.
.the SHINING-Jack Nicholson,smiling from an ancient picture of a long lost era. Home at last...? Or in eternal damnation?
I'll come up with more...but some of the choices are ridiculus...I mean...BATMAN BEGINS??? C'mon!!!

Supernatural?...perhaps. Baloney?...Perhaps not!" Bela Lugosi-the BLACK CAT (1934)
Interviewer-"Does Dracula ever end for you?
Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

Mr. DS

I'm still very partial towards Planet Of The Apes as being my favorite of all time which is on the list thankfully.

Doc Daneeka

Yeah Doc Strangelove had an OK ending, but it's total s**t compared to what it was going to be; a battle between Russians and Americans using the only weapons they have left: pies! Finally, the war room a mess, the present mad scientist is the most clearheaded in the room!

What we have is a random "Mein fuhrer, I can walk!" and the world blowing up. Reason I haven't bought the DVD yet is because there's no alternate ending.

For the latest on the fifth installment in Don Coscarelli's Phantasm saga.

Bmeansgood

I was always partial to the ending in Se7en.  Don't look in the box!

SaintMort

I'm actually pretty satisfied with that list... I'm really glad Say Anything was on there because I thought that was the best ending to any 80's teen flick.

I don't know about Rushmore's ending... I was a fan of both Royal Tenenbaums and Life Aquatic's ending more

akiratubo

I made it to Batman Begins and didn't read anymore.
