Having just viewed the rare 70's horror flick THE DEMON LOVER, I am convinced that this is the worst movie I have ever seen.  I have seen hundreds and hundreds of horror movies, and this one beats out HOWLING: NEW MOON RISING and THE TOOLBOX MURDERS.  A part of my soul is now dead thanks to THE DEMON LOVER, the plotless, boring, and pointless bane of my existence.  Anyone foolish enough to rent this heinous piece of turd would be advised to do otherwise.  Be warned.

Oh my God how I love this film!  It's one of my favourite B-movies of all time.  You didn't laugh at Charlie (I'm sorry! I'm sorry) and his dancing skills or that long haired devil worshipper (We have entered the gates of Hell)?  And Lavalle and the Detective.  God, there's so much to love about this film.  I heartily recommend this film to anyone who would visit this website, you'll laugh your head off.  It's a masterpiece in bad filmmaking.  Sorry you didn't like it coupwick, but me and my movie-watching pals love it and we're all cool and always right.

As a sidenote, a friend of mine talked with the director, Don Jackson, and he is actually considering making a sequel and we were going to have roles.  We knew we could never top the actors in the first film, but we figured if we hit each other in the head with a hammer a few times we could at least try to match them.

So,Donald Jackson has gotten tired of all of his bad "Rollerblade" and "Frogtown" sequels, and wants to do a sequel to this,eh!?
Maybe he can get back Gunnar Hansen, who cameo-ed in the original(good luck about all the other characters that died at the massacre ending),and put his sequels alumni in there.
Also seek out and try to find "Demon Lover Diary",which is a documentary on the lunatic production of his film, where Don's buddy propusely cut off his finger on his job just to get the backing money for the film's production, and Don acted so crazy in the documentary, that he literally chased the documentary crew out of town---I kid you not(Just ask Steve Puchalski,in case you don't believe me,for he's seen this movie, and will be happy to tell you about it).

I read Shock Cinema all the time and read his review of Demon Lover Diary and it sounds great, but it was never put out on video, trust me, I've looked.  Hopefully, with the DVD revolution, smaller films are getting put out so maybe I'll get a chance to see it in the next twenty or thirty years.  Speaking of the sequel though, I think Jackson had never recieved a fan letter before and it made him want to do a sequel, but sadly, he has never spoken of it again.
