I thought I saw a review of this on the forum already, but a search didn't turn it up, so here's my thoughts.  Just finished this one and it is a hoot, as we say in the South.  Like all the ROTLD series, it dishes up lots of rock and roll, drug use (major plot developer there), brain-eating zombies, and boobs.  The first thing you will notice is a MAJOR plothole from the earlier movies in the series - the zombies are now vulnerable to being shot in the head or otherwise having their brain stem severed.  This really kinda spoiled the movie for me at first, because what made the original ROTLD zombies so great was that they COULDN'T be killed in any conventional manner!
The film was populated by the usual run of 30 year old "teenagers", one of whose uncle was recently killed while trying to deliver one of the lost Trioxin cannisters to Interpol - or to SOMEONE with a foreign accent, anyway!  The foreigners  demanded proof that the gas in the cannister worked, so they deliberately reanimated not one but THREE corpses, which then took out the uncle, the mortician, and one of the Interpol guys.  The grieving nephew discovers two additional drums hidden in the attic where his uncle worked, and shows them to his chemistry major friend - who drains out the fluid to make recreational drugs out of it!  (Somehow without noticing the nasty ol' zombie inside the drum!) The drugs are passed out to the partygoers at the rave and on the college (?) campus, and all who take them become zombies either quickly or slowly, and mayhem ensues.   All in all, it's a fun zombie romp with enough cheesy dialogue, spurting blood, and bouncing bosoms to keep most B movie afficianados happy.  It is probably the best of the ROTLD sequels I have seen, but NOTHING lives up to the original for comedy and gore and scares all in one.  Still, this one is worth renting.

I saw this one for rent at a local Movie Starz.  Is this the 6th in the series?

I liked the 1st and 3rd ones but the 2nd, 4th and 5th ones were total crap IMO.

I noticed it was rated R. Is it pretty gory for an R rated horror flick or can you tell they had to cut some corners?

This is #5. What is wrong with the sequels? (They weren't total crap )

For the latest on the fifth installment in Don Coscarelli's Phantasm saga.

I've seen the whole series and I'm not saying the other sequels were awful - although the one with the guy's GF becoming a zombie and trying to slow the process so as not to chomp on loverboy's cranium was GOOD - but this is far and away the best of the sequels, even if there is that one gaping plothole I mentioned.  Then again, I'd seen several really horrible B features in a row, and this one may have just looked extra good by comparison.

The only thing I liked in the 2nd one was the Michael Jackson zombie.

I saw Rave to the Grave, and at first I thought it was dumb.  But then I realized that this movie is a B movie and should not make to much sense.  I have seen parts one, two, and three.  I would like to see part four.

I plan on adding these movies to my collection hopefully soon.

That was the only memorable thing from that one. I got it on netflix the other day, I remebered not liking it but I wanted to give it a second chance. It failed. I love the first one, the second one just pales in comparison.

My favorite aspect of Part 3 is the always beautiful Mindy Clarke.

(Yes, I know this pic is from Killer Tongue.)
