Last weekend was a milestone in my concert-going life. I got to see 2 of my favorite bands; Modest Mouse on Saturday night and (my favorite band for over 20 years) The Flaming Lips on Sunday night. Cool atmosphere! Friendly people all around us, hardcore fans, and made a lot of new friends that'll be coming to our yearly Halloween Party this year. Freakin' unbelievably good time!

go ahead and laugh but I thought they were a great band.   :tongueout:
Haven't listened to that one in a long while, but I think they were a great band, too... "Too much too soon...?"  At some point, it became fashionable to snub this record... uhm, because it had so many hits?   :twirl:  TORGO:  And CCR?

18 great songs, by Run DMC.

I've got the Greatest Hits CD that came out in 2002 and I prefer that one as it has the track "Christmas in Hollis" which was a rare benefit track they did for a Christmas album in 1987.

But any Run DMC is great Run DMC nonetheless.

I'm listening to at the moment.

Lately been listening to "Young and Restless" a local band who just released their first album.

I'm a big fan of them live, since they're a very thrashy, frantic group.   There also is something to be said about a short Asian girl screaming her lungs out on stage.  Luckily the album is good as well, if a little subtle compared to their live shows.

Download/Listen to their single "Kapow" here [don't worry, it's legit, I think...  :teddyr: ]

Or watch their other single Police! Police! below:

Funny you mention "Christmas in Hollis."  This greatest hits I have has a bonus dvd with 14 music videos, one of which is "Christmas in Hollis", despite the fact that the song itself isn't even featured on the musical side of it.  Eh.  At least it's there.

Now listening to Rick Nelson's 4th album: Songs By Ricky
Nelson's records for Imperial were all good, and two or three are superb.

I've been hooked by a band called Miss Crazy, lately.  These kids are 20 some years old and the band, especially the singer have a perfect 80's style hair metal sound.
It don't hurt that the bassist is a lil hottie.

Listen to this tune and tell me it doesn't smack of something like Fastway
