I came across some of Jim Henson's early experimental work on YouTube.  I knew nothing about these films until earlier today.  First up is Time Piece (1965).  This recieved and Academy Award nomination for best short film.  It's pretty weird but entertaining.

Next is a one minute film called Ripples (1967).  It's kind of interesting I suppose.

The last one I could find is The Cube (1969).  It's about an hour long and was shown on TV.  I haven't watched all of this yet but it's pretty strange.  It's about a man who finds himself trapped in a cube-shaped room.  Different people come and go through the cube, but the man seems unable to leave.

Jim Henson was such a brilliant artist, it still bums me out that he's no longer with us.

I'm making a note to watch these...and share these later.

Cool find. Thanks for sharing. + karma

Time Piece is classic avant garde indulgence, pure playfullness, makes me giddy as a child again.  :teddyr:
