Phantom 187

Just missing the series. I remeber watching some really good programs at like around 3:00 in the morning about subliminal messages and their effects on our society and also some programms on the power of the mind mostly these were on that weird show.  I have a whole lot of memories from that.

ahhhhh. sniff. damn! ted turner's downsizing.

So many channels run B-movies. Too bad one of them can't hire a good host, like Joe Bob, to add some pizzazz during the commercial breaks.

At least SOME of MST3K is still in reruns. But man I miss the MonsterVision drive-in totals, mailbag, trivia, etc.

J.R.

I liked it when Jo Bob would bring up logical problems with the movie and the crew would laugh.

Steven Millan

I heavily miss both the show, and Joe Bob Briggs (both) hosting, and commenting on anything.
Too bad that cable TV has gotten as politically correct as regular network TV(which is what cable has become like now).

jmc

I loved when they showed THE WARRIORS and he got the whole crew to whine "Warriors, come out and play-ay...."

yaddo42

I liked how he was trying to map out where they actually were in the city compared to where the movie said they were with a big map of the NYC subway system.

I miss the totals, Joe Bob's explanations of what got snipped by the TNT censors, and the rotating series of MailGirls and their, ahem, twin talents.

john

Don't forget his drive-in closings updates.

Flangepart

I miss Rusty the mail girl, the totals, the riffing on upper management,  inconsistancy alerts, and, realy, the kick back and have fun, it's just a movie attitude Joe Bobb brought to the procedings. (Sigh). Just one more reason to wanna ship Ted Turner and his girl Jane off to Tabogo-bago or some where they still have headhunters. Can i get an Amen of shippin' Ted and Jane off to the headhunters!?

J.R.

Jane had the good sense to leave Ted. Apparently, she found God and it wasn't him. (Rimshot).

yup...the "joe bob" character worked so great as a host...cynical but really digging the movies...and knowledgeable.

if you haven't already, check out his movie books and website (joebobbriggs.com):

i've hunted down his two drive-in movie books collected from his old newspaper columns...they all begin with joe bob talking about his freewheelin lifestyle and then the reviews with the monstervision-type totals...good books if you liked monstervision...

the site has reviews, current columns by john "joe bob" bloom, he reviews gambling casinos, also writes about politics, etc.

ALSO a weekly "name this movie" contest. Also sometimes trivia questions with prizes...i just answered some pretty easy movie questions and should be getting an alt-country cd with an introduction/insert by joe bob.
