Dread Central broke the news this morning that the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society, who produced the incredibly sweet 'Call of Cthulhu' silent short is hard at work on a talkie based on Lovecraft's evil aliens story, 'The Whisperer In The Darkness'.

The teaser is up on the HPLHS website.  Definitely check it out.  This group somehow figured out how to faithfully adapt Lovecraft to the screen.

The Whisperer in the Darkness was (I think) the first Lovecraft tale I ever read and is one of my faves. This could be a very cool project! :teddyr:

I've been pushing Call of Cthulhu on people since I first saw it.

"Talkies" are a very different prospect from silent films, but hopefully they continue on with their excellence in Lovecraft.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

Great news! Thanks!

I agree CALL OF CTHULHU is the best screen adaptaion of Lovecraft.
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.
