Surreal?
Haunting?

No - Rad

I'm sorry but this dance sequence is hillarious (mostly because i can tell that half the time they are on stationary bikes doing their poses)

Joe the Destroyer

The slow-mo makes it feel... odd... disturbing... Almost sexually tantalizing, like I want to go find a bike and make out with it in slow motion.  My god, I did just type that.  Drink more beer, act casual.

Anyway, I think I'll have to check this film out for the 80's feel cheese alone.

The few times you do see her peddling she looks like a fish out of water.  He isn't much better.

That's another one I watched due to my huge crush on Lori Loughlin.  That, um..."sequence" was really hilarious.  You can tell they just propped the bikes up on stands and had the actors pose on them.  Not actually a terrible movie if you were in your early teens back in the '80s.   :teddyr:

is that when they're bike dancing to "send me an angel"?  I loved that movie.  also, "thrashin" and "north shore" the skate and surf board installments of that same plot.

Troof!

I think I saw this movie when I was 11 or 12 back around the time it came out on video and I probably watched it three or four times before my folks took it back to the video store.  We probably rented it another half dozen times before my mom suggested trying something else for a change.

OMG I had forgotten about this gem ...I remember we got to watch it on the last day of school back in 7th grade!   That clip is hilarious.

And you make me want to go dig up "Gleaming the Cube" with all this skateboard talk hehe.

Susan

i never got into the whole bmx bike thing. I don't think anybody I knew really cared about bikes as far as doing tricks like that. I did however hang out with the skaters during the late 80's so i was briefly part of that whole scene. Skate boarding was so much fun back then, it wasn't just like a thing kids did..it was a lifestyle

HOLY COW, I need to see that piece of crap.  Send Me An Angel was also used to great effect in The Wizard.

This is a great companion film with either BMX Bandits or Quicksilver.

BMX features a very young and pre-cosmetic surgery Nicole Kidman.  Quicksilver features an in-his-prime Kevin Bacon and pre-Cowboy Curtis Lawrence Fishburne (back when he was Larry Fishburne).

Oh, for the days of cheezy bike movies.........

BTW, they used to show Rad and Pee Wee's Big Adventure weekly at the day-camp I used to go to back in the 80's.   :bouncegiggle:

The guy clapping his hands next to the punch table at the -4:00 mark was probably about what I looked like in the early 80's.

I used to have this turkey on VHS back in the day for some unknown reason......................................

HA HA! I read the comments before watching the video, ain't nobody or nothing tricking me into going outside. f**k the purveyors of x-treme sport 'culture'! Video games and toys all the way!  :hot: :tongueout:
"Do you have something against droppings?" "Well, no, I..." "Sure, everyone says that till they step in it."

I heard "Send Me an Angel" on the radio the other day and immediately thought of this thread.

Talk about a movie ruining a song.  Kind of like "Stuck in the Middle with You" from Reservoir Dogs

Ah, the memories... Just a great piece of 80's schlock the likes of which they really don't make anymore. Did a full blown, fully detailed dissection of this childhood favorite about two years ago. Here you go: THE RADNESS OF CRU JONES
