First of all, I ned to say that I love this web site - my life has never been the same since I discovered The Apple.  I have no friends any more, they all avoid me for fear of being made to watch  something from my video collection.

For my birthday someone gave me Invasion Earth.  Apparently they paid £2 for it **new**.  I think that's a fair price, given the quality.  This is one of th truly bad films of all time.  Th humour doesn't work, and I've never seen such bad continuity.    The funny thing is, it's about aliems supoposedly taking over the earth  by making humans watch bad B-movies so their brains dissolve - and you can actually feel it happening to you as you watch the film!

Anyway, there are soooooooo many good films we get a glimpse of in this one. I have identified and ordered The Beast From 20 000 Fathoms and Rodan.  These look brilliant.  But there are two that look worth getting that I can't identify.  One in s the the one with the giant bird - the one that eats the parachutist with a lovely "crunch" sound.  The other is the truley crap monster with floppy rubbery arms that is wasted by a guy with a blow torch.  Can anyone please tell me what these films are?  I MUST BUY THEM  My life will be unfulfilled and I will die an empty and broken man unless I can add them to my collection.

Thanks for any help identifying these.....

Welcome!

That would be THE GIANT CLAW (1957). Truly one of the most ridiculous-looking critters ever to dangle from a string.

It was just released on DVD as part of the Icons of Horror Collection - Sam Katzman Collection.
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

Welcome aboard, TheMekon!

We've got a nice and friendly bunch here.  Raffine definitely hit your giant antimatter space buzzard movie.  The second, if I remember, is "It Conquered the World."  The monster looked like a big, fleshy cone - right?  I might have to pull out that LD and watch the movie again.  Honestly, the real reason to see that film is all the great clips.
