We saw this on the news tonight.  They said that the alligator was well known to the people around there.  So, did the guy not know about it or try to gamble and lose bad?

I'm wondering about keeping a pet alligator in a pond near my house.  That way, if somebody breaks in, I could just chase them into the pond and maintain my innocence in what takes place.

I also kept thinking of the movie Eaten Alive while reading this article for some reason.

My folks go to Florida for the winter and there's some guy who's shall we say, "not quite right", who feeds donuts to the alligator in the nearby pond.  The animal control people had to remove the alligator because of course that idiot had taught it that humans give it food.  I think nature would have solved the problem in a more permanent way
