COBRA (stallone)

WRAITH (charlie sheen)

I get big laughs off both these films.

I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

roadhouse! how could  forget.

the bit where he's doing martial arts moves in the distance to some horrible synth soundtrack. classic

Do Arnold Schwarzenegger movies count, or do you consider them 'intentionally' funny?

If they do count, Commando would be at the top of my list.   :teddyr:

yeah man, schwartzenegger movies definitely count. they weren't marketed as 'comedies'... . I haven't seen Commando in years actually, but I'm sure lots of people probably think it's a really cool hard-man action movie, likewise his other films.

The short factor never mattered much to me, but ever since he became more open about the xenu bs, I haven't been able do anything but laugh at T. Cruise and by the same measure that other guy...saturday night fever, battlefield earth, thinks it's brave to play a fat woman while endorsing a homophobic cult. Whatsisname?
"Do you have something against droppings?" "Well, no, I..." "Sure, everyone says that till they step in it."

You know, just about anything staring Van Damme or Segal would count. I also have a bit of a softspot for those awful DTV action films from the early nineties, usually staring someone like David Bradly or Don "The Dragon" Wilson. (My favorite is "Cyborg Cop.") A lot of Charles Bronson's later eighties films would fall into the same area, after his schtick became such a tired out cliche.

I just watched Cobra on TV in the last week or so. First time since the 80s.

It was as if they had a checklist of things an action movie should have:
Irreverent loner hero in sunglasses.....check
Cool car for hero....check
Likeable sidekick.....check
Banter about sidekick's junk food....check
Hot damsel in distress....check
Big, ugly psycho villain.....check
Cool, distinctive weapon for villain.....check
Angry captain.....check
Bleeding heart liberals and pushy reporters.....check
Smarmy colleague....check
Traitor cop....check
Lots of dumb editorializing and philosophizing to sound deep....check
Hostages....check
Shootup in supermarket....check

Plot.....sort of
Motivation for crimes.....unclear

What about Fred Dryer in "Death Before Dishonor"? Lousy movie and lousy acting, but the scene where he shoots a bazooka while driving a jeep is hilarious.

Patrick Swayze was also lot s of unintentional fun in "Road House", I agree. A movie that opens with him moving with the music completely out of sync deserves an oportunity. And it also has Ben Gazzara (as threatening as a puppy) driving in zig zag just because he wants to. If only the whole movie had been as much fun...
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

Point Break (1991)

Unintentional hilarious, especially if one does not like Keanu Reeves  :teddyr:

Eye Of The Tiger - Gary Busey vs a motorcycle gang
Cage - Lou Ferrigno in a cage fighting movie

I'd have to say Commando is the best overall though.  Its filled with cliches of the tough guy genre.

Have you seen "Bulletproof" also starring Gary Buesy? It's absolutely hilarious. If you like "Eye of the Tiger" I would heartily recommand that one.
